As I've mentioned before, a hurricane passed through during my visit to Ireland this past October. The first one in 50 years. The country essentially shut down for a day. And we were cooped up in hotel in Killarney. So, when the worst of the storm had passed, a few of us ventured out into Killarney National Park. We visited Torc Waterfall, which was really roaring with the rainfall of the storm. This was taken a short ways downstream of the waterfall. You you get a sense of how the water was rushing down the mountain in the aftermath.

The beautiful Torc Falls, Killarney, County Kerry Ireland.

There's good reason they call it the Emerald Isle....

The moon rises over Torc Mountain and the waters of Lough Leane in Ireland's Killarney National Park.

Beautiful waterfall in county Kerry Ireland. Didn't have a tripod so balanced the camera on a rock.

KNIPHOFIA UVARIA (TRITOMA)

Shot on the only day I could get out on almost 3 week long business trip to Ireland. Took a bus tour to Killarney and other western parts of the country close by. Ireland is beautiful and would love to get back there one day to see more of it.

The light was even better in this shot than the previous upload from here, I just preferred the other composition with the path. In this one there is a clearer view of the upper lake and I loved the way the light was catching the hill below.

For reasons that weren't apparent to me, TORC SD40-2 996 was parked on the old team track at Needmore Yard on Thanksgiving, 2014. This unit normally operates at the Toledo Ore Dock. For the record. it's ex-CSXT 8200, exx-SBD 8200/3572, exxx-L&N 3572, built 10/74. (Photo taken on CSX property with permission.)
