ancora qualche giorno prima della latenza invernale, (stato di ridotta attività fisiologica), per le amate Vipere.
nei giorni che precedono l’abbraccio del gelo, quando l’autunno mormora tra le foglie ormai dorate, le vipere, creature silenziose e misteriose, si preparano al sonno dell’inverno.
come spiriti antichi, percorrono i sentieri di terra e roccia, cercando quel rifugio che li accoglierà nei mesi di silenzio e freddo.
c’è un'energia nascosta nel loro movimento, come se la terra stessa le chiamasse a fare il loro ultimo gesto prima di ritirarsi.
ogni scivolamento tra l’erba, ogni sussurro del corpo contro la pietra, sembra un addio all’estate, un saluto sommesso alla vita che sta per fermarsi.
l’autunno le trova più accorte, più affamate di vita, ma già stanche di calore.
si nutrono, sì, ma con una quiete che sa di addio.
il loro sguardo, che un tempo aveva il fuoco del predatore, ora sembra più profondo, come se leggessero nei ritmi segreti della terra.
cercano il buio, la sicurezza di un rifugio nascosto, dove la notte si farà lunga, dove il tempo non esiste e il vento non riuscirà a disturbarle.
inizia la loro lunga danza del silenzio.
sono a conoscenza che la morte dell'estate è solo una pausa, un ritorno alla quiete, e che il ciclo, come la vita come sempre, si ripeterà.
dormono, aspettano e sognano giorni più caldi.

A little prayer for all who are giving thanks this week-end, a little prayer for all those in distress, being held hostage, have lost their lives, are caught up in mud-slides and various other disasters throughout the world. I tried my best to mess with this rose but it had a complete mind of its own and only looked worse the more I fiddled, so here it is unadorned except for its own natural beauty.
There were times when days just went by,
Lonely winds swept the earth dry,
Raging sun beamed with all its fury,
was walking alone tired and weary,
And then, you walked into my life,
I wondered why would you be so nice,
must be a dream that won't last long,
Never thought that I could be wrong,
Your simple smile and eyes so bright,
couldn't resist you with all my might,
slowly but surely our friendship grew,
you taught me things I never knew,
I achieved things, I thought I never can,
your criticism made me a better man,
your soft words gave the healing touch,
whenever life seemed to be just too much,
Struggling and fighting I went on,
knowing its you I could depend on,
And then Suddenly like magic you were gone,
I was left all alone, all my dreams shattered and torn,
vows and promises all forgone,
I asked myself, where did I go wrong,
Things were supposed to be that way I guess,
It was I who started all the mess,
may you find happiness and joy, god bless,

Although we didn't have much rain today, it was still quite grey. I went to the hairdressers and decided to take my camera with me. When I was walking home I occupied myself by taking photos around the neighbourhood. This is straight out of the camera, only resized in photoshop. It was taken with my 100 mm portrait lens and the 12 mm and 20 mm Kenko macro extension tubes.
