Just before the sun disappeared below the horizon.
Although those clouds look gloomy & gray, they were actually a dark blue, due to the low light.
Looking west over Lake Emerald, in Oakland Park, Florida -US- near Fort Lauderdale.

Searching through my archives I find another pretty creature.
I think this might be an adult male Belenois java (Caper White) visiting one of our Australian Native Grevilleas
This cloud is the result of strong winds over a mountain range. The cloud is on the lee side of the mountains and it covered nearly the length of the valley. Photo was taken at Clareville, Carterton, North Island, New Zealand.

This is a butterfly indigenous to an area ranging from Argentina to South Texas. There have been several spottings in the North Texas area in the past couple of weeks. I spotted this guy on a trip to the arboretum a couple of weeks ago and didn't think much about it. In our daily paper Friday, there was an article about this butterfly and its RARE visit to the area! Mr. Clark of Dallasbutterflies.com has confirmed the identity for me. They compare in size to the Monarch and its distinctive feature is forewings that are curved to a hook. When open they are white with a large yellow patch. When sitting they are almost always closed and may have a green cast to their underside.

Dragonflies aren't attracted to flowers so count your blessings when you catch them there. Amberwings are tiny dragonflies - the size of large wasps.

don't kill me for the falling lines - but it was not easy. in my eyes the sun and in the neck a strong worker ;-) - but i thank him - he allowed me to make pics for 30 sec.
(i needed more than 30 sec. to clean my clothes - there was a footprint on my back ;-)
This shot epitomizes the spirit of Mt. St. Helens for me and remains a favorite. The skies seem to emanate from the mountain and Spirit Lake remains peaceful. Shot at dawn.
This wide-angle shot was a personal request and favorite of my wife. She was telling the rooster when to crow during the shooting. Shot near Dencio's in Tagaytay.

Objects materializing from the fog offer surprises to the traveler willing to explore under what some would term less-than-ideal conditions. The fog, however, casts its spell for the photographer and creates new views of familiar objects. Here the trees materializing from the fog on Olympic NP's Third Beach, make them appear as beach sentinals.
