A very precisely sized tool, this one is part of an old TA tool kit. This is perfect for ref.25 chainring mounting bolts and especially nice for the old TA "domed" bolts. This is cut flush at the opening as opposed to modern sockets which are often tapered for an easier fit over hex bolts or nuts. This means there is much less chance of the tool slipping off and rounding the corners of old TA hex-head bolts... which always seemed to be made of soft steel and were poorly plated.

Martin Waru, 42, harvests peppers on his plot of land in Bidibidi camp, where he lives with his wife and 9 children after fleeing conflict in South Sudan. His youngest child was born in the refugee settlement. He lives in a rocky part of the refugee settlement but has 5 acres of land, farming extra plots abandoned by his neighbours. As well as receiving tools and seeds, he went to a caritas-supported Farmers Field School, where he learned new agricultural technical skills. “I learnt how to maximise the small amount of land that I have,” he said. He also set up a savings group, and has now invested in livestock. He left South Sudan in July 2016, where he was a farmer in a rural area near Yei. “I’m safe, the children are in school, we can get health care. But we are confined here and our plans are limited. I want a plan for 5-10 years where I know my children will benefit, but if I’m limited as a refugee and I can’t plan, then life isn’t good,” he said.

I'm flattered, since biomanufacturing is one of those careers I would have loved to gone into and still daydream about. I'll have to be content hoping I contributed in some small way to a young un-directed mind choosing pathway that solves the worlds biomanufacturing problems.
If you happen to be reading this, young inquisitive mind, go look into synthetic biology. I'm particularly excited about algae bioreactors, in the desert or in the ocean. Don't worry about pathway optimization in the organism, there are plenty of people doing that -- figure out how to make lots and lots of the cells in a continuous flow bioreactor. Optimize for high-volume, make it energy efficient.
Last point -- close as many loops as possible.

I'm not using the metal lathe, so I took it off the bench and moved my wood lathe over. Biggest benefit is this bench is a good 6" lower, the other one was far too high. I put paper down the front to protect the underdrive transmission from wood shavings.

The Mac Pro on the left is a 2 x 3 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon. The Mac Pro on the right is a 2 x 2.4 GHz 6-Core Intel Xeon with a 512GB Apple SSD, making it the most powerful in our studios when the picture was taken. Core and Accel cards for Pro Tools HD have been switched into the new one. They're a tight fit.
The logic board finished in matt black on the new one is rather swish, though I have no idea what 'BIG FRANK' and 'LITTLE FRANK' do; but they're labelled.
What I brought to work today for my anti-static project. Heartfelt thanks to Jim for giving me the roll of 3M Core Series 2-0300 tape before he split for the boot.

Multi-tools are worthless in my view. Too many years in the saddle has made me wary...paranoid if you will. Only things missing here is Allen Set and the mini-crank puller. It's heavy but it inspires confidence. Handles the basics and some loaded touring mishaps like loose crankset, pedal, headset., or chainring bolts. FiberFix kit is real handy once you know how to use it. Only good for one spoke though.
Used to bell out ends of copper tubing to make a slip joint when reconnecting the evaporator. Kit also contains a flaring tool but this is not used for any Monitor Top work. Had this kit not been available, I would have used commercially made joiners. Note that copper tube used for refrigeration is not the same as that used for domestic plumbing. Refrigeration tubing is dehydrated and filled with nitrogen when manufactured. Sizing is also different with sizes referring to outside diameter rather than inside.
