Some of my tools are too old to use. I'm not sure I know how to use some of these, so I put them in a box labeled "old tools." There is another box of "broken tools." What I need is a box that says "modern, useful tools in working order."
This is a dangerous tool. Not as bad as a sanding disk on the angle grinder but almost. Be careful and have a light touch. Since it's a cheep thing it wobbles a lot. So I found that running it at full speed helped to keep the wobbling at bay.
The first job was to oil all the bearings for the roller drawers, so they would open and close easily.

Thomas James Rodoni was born in 1882 at Hotham East, Victoria, to Swiss and Irish parents. While living in Sydney in August 1914 as a man of 31, Rodoni joined the first Australian Imperial Force that would engage in the
Great War: the Australian Naval & Military Expeditionary Force.
A week after enlisting, Rodoni’s company embarked on the HMAS Berrima and sailed
to German New Guinea among a fleet with orders to seize two wireless stations and to disable the German colonies there.
Rodoni’s unofficial photographs – many of them “candid” shots, captured in the moment – are a rare glimpse of this pivotal moment in Australia’s
history. He has documented the energetic atmosphere of prewar Sydney and its surrounds, from civilian and military marches to battleships docked in Sydney Harbour, with accompanying crowds of people brought together for these special events. His camera voyaged with him on the expedition to
the Pacific region, taking images both from the ship’s deck and then again on dry land after disembarking.
Rodoni was stationed in New Guinea for five months with the AN&MEF after the successful capture of territory from the German forces. His striking
images are testament to his ease with the camera, and the ease of his fellow servicemen around this avid amateur photographer. He used his camera to record daily events and significant moments in the expedition, and made several group portraits of the officers and soldiers in his company. Yet his images also suggest a genuine curiosity for the foreign people and places where he was stationed, and a love of the photographic medium in which
he practiced during this early period of the war.
After leaving New Guinea with the AN&MEF and returning home to Australia in January 1915, Rodoni left the force to work in a Small Arms Factory
manufacturing munitions for the war. He soon married and settled in Newcastle with his wife, Catherine Annie Wilson, and had four children:
Thomas, Mary, Jim and William (Bill).
The wider collection of glass plate negatives – over 600 in total and with many views of Newcastle and its surrounds is an incredible legacy to Thomas Rodoni and his family.
Rodoni died in 1956 as a result of a car accident in Waratah, Newcastle.
The original negatives are held in Cultural Collections at the Auchmuty Library, University of Newcastle (Australia).

This tool was so sexy I had to have it when I saw it on sale at Tandy Leather's for $20. And it turned out to be useful to shoemaking. It cuts strips of leather off a large piece. Here shown with the 1/2" strip already cut.
You can see the planes where other tools have been flaked off.
Today I went to a talk about what to do if you find Aboriginal artifacts on your land and how they were made and what uses they had for various ones. I apologise ahead of time for the photos that are out of focus. You can still see the worked edges.
The talk was arranged because some worked stones were found recently on the land opposite the local hall. This is the first such talk that has been given in this area. There was a lot of interest and a large audience.
Austin said carving my jewelry tools into a pumpkin for Halloween was not allowed and wasn't "halloweenie"... so I just used my tools, and drilled my pumpkin instead. Flex shaft pumpkin? I think yes.
I'm not sure how many holes it is, but there is pumpkin everywhere.

We took a look at the Brompton toolkit to see exactly what it's all about. We found it has an array of excellent tools useful in repairing your Brompton bicycle.
Again the 16 mm. socket is used. The simple rod is adequate for applying sufficient force to simply push the crank arm off of the bottom bracket axle.
Some feel the tool was designed with just a short simple rod to ensure a user would fasten the crank bolt down, but without risk of applying too much torque.
Don't need no fancy torque wrenches here!

My husband bought a great big rolling tool box for the shop a couple of weeks ago. It is very pretty. I have stolen it for my kitchen because it is too wonderful for the nasty auto shop and needs to be where it can be appreciated.

15oz hammer, reground, filed, and treated with cold blue and paste wax. Rehafted with Vaughn octagonal hammer handle.
Just sharing a quick card I made for a friend. Not for a challenge; just for fun.
Background is green cardstock. I stamped Hero Arts CG119 Flourish Background on top, using VersaFine Vintage Sepia pigment ink. When the ink was dry, I added highlights using a cream colored pencil.
The panel at the bottom is made using chocolate brown cardstock. I stamped Hero Arts H5261 Flourish Trio using VersaMark watermark ink. Then I heat embossed it using Ranger verdigris embossing powder with my Heat It craft tool (heat gun).
The "thanks for being my friend" sentiment is from Hero Arts CL377 Be Happy. It was stamped with VersaMark and heat embossed with Ranger seafoam white embossing powder.
The butterfly is from Hero Arts CL383 Antique Engravings. It was stamped using Ranger Archival Ink, which is waterproof. Then it was colored by applying Mustard Seed and Spiced Marmalade Distress Inks with Tsukineko sponge daubers.
I used a Uni Ball Signo opaque white pen to add details, and then a Sakura Stardust clear glitter gel pen to add a bit of shine. The butterfly is adhered using foam squares for dimension.
