This is a still life of some sort of a hammer-like tool. I created this self directed work with the intention of focusing primarily on highlights, blending, and shadows. The objective of this piece was to create a relatively simplistic drawing that has a dramatic feel. I decided to make this still life more intense by stressing the opposing shades of dark and light. I included this piece in my portfolio because it deals with contrast and lighting.
