This is how the token exchange is done during the night time. This one was speeding at nearly 80 kmph
1) The khalasi lights a 'Mashal' and holds up in the right hand
2) The LP honks and acknowledges from far off
3) The khalasi then holds up the token ring in the left hand
4) The LP switches the headlights off to enable the assistant to sight the token ring next to the fire
5) voila, before you can say 'token', the token ring is collected by the assistant
All in all an exciting visual
These are one of my most popular items at this time of year. New photos to re-launch the tokens for the 2012 festive season!

The RFID tokens are valid only for a single journey on the day of purchase and the value depends on the distance travelled, with fares for a single journey ranging from 8 Indian Rupee (US$0.18) to 30 Indian Rupee (US$0.67). Fares are calculated based on the origin and destination stations using a fare chart.
I used the $36 weekly pass while in Toronto, and thus have no experience with tokens here. Please note advertising on the turnstile and on the ticket vending station. This is an important source of revenue for the TTC, and helps boost the farebox recovery ratio to over 70%.
To replace the – 40 year old and never serviced – bottom bracket on the Gent’s Touring I got this new one made by Token.
I measured 127 mm on the old spindle, but since it was asymmetrical and I had some room to spare on both sides I bought this 122.5 mm long version.
The old bottom bracket weighed about. 380 gramm, this new one (with Carbon!) just under 260. Almost a third lighter!
The new TTC tokens are slightly fatter than the old ones -- and thus more difficult to insert into ye olde token holder. Damn you TTC!

In Single Line Section where there is only one set of tracks for up and down trains, all trains have to take a token to proceed further,it is a sigh that "Yes you can Enter Now,the track is clear and you have the Authority".

These old tokens, also known as bar chips are from a now closed bar which was located in Larksville, PA.
Such chips were given when one patron wanted to buy another one a drink. Different shapes, and/or colors determined what type of drink was to be given.
Many bars had such tokens, but now with contemporary registers, paper slips are printed, usually with the value and date printed on it. This is designed to keep customers from trying to get a higher priced drink with a lower valued chip. And they are dated so that they must be used on the date issued.
These colorful and nostalgic collectibles have a good following of collectors.

I had viewed a friends photo many years ago that I absolutely adored. So every time I come across a Pine cone it reminds me of him and need to capture it!
