I visited the Toadstool for the first time in 2016, but had no time to do nightscapes.

When I was back this spring, I grabbed my chance to spend a night at this iconic Hoodoo.

As the place is quite easy to access and due to the perfect conditions, I assumed that there would be other photographers, but to my pleasant surprise, I had the place all to myself. The perfect chance to shoot a full Milky Way panorama...

Anything I see on my walks and at this time of year I like to photograph mushrooms and toadstools.

We hiked out to the hoodoo formations known as the Toadstools.

Seen whilst walking my dog. The only lawn in the Close with toadstools!

A very close up macro view at dirt level looking up at the underbelly of wild mushroom growing on my sister's back lawn.

Just playin' around with a new lens

Eine vom Parkplatz am Highway 89 ausgehende Wanderung von ca. 3km Länge führt zu bizarr geformten Sandsteinfelsen. Diese Hoodoos nehmen nicht selten die Form von überdimensionalen Pilzen an.

A 3km hike starting from the parking lot on Highway 89 leads to bizarrely shaped sandstone cliffs. These hoodoos often take the form of oversized mushrooms.

These toadstools are sandstone formations with a harder caprock that has protected a softer, more easily weathered tower. Located in Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument.

With a bit of fantasy you'll discover this little world. Can you see the elf sitting under the red speckled hat?

Mushroom picking in the woods and again I played with the vintage lenses ...
