El proyecto Parque Titanium, que tantas veces ha sido publicado en Lugar+Citadino™ en esta ocasión tendrá un análisis más profundo de lo normal, en línea con la nueva propuesta editorial de este Flickr y que ya desde algunas fotografías atrás ha ido más que afirmándose, volviendo a los orígenes con estos textos más descriptivos.
Parque Titanium es un proyecto que se pensó en forma paralela a Torre Titanium en vista de que su desarrollador es el mismo (ASL Sencorp), junto a que este barrio (El Golf) cuenta con un portafolio histórico de proyectos a cargo de la misma compañía. Así que este paso se enmarcó no sólo en el contexto de ofrecer otro nuevo edificio de oficinas, sino también una propuesta más armónica en relación a su manera de ligarse al entorno y que se ha visto impregnada en que este conjunto de torres de oficinas, de unos 23 pisos cada una por tres torres, cuenta con certificaciones LEED –Leadership in Enery and Enviromental Design- y cuidados detalles que pudimos descubrir algunos días atrás en una larga y extensa visita por la zona inmediatamente aledaña a este importante proyecto (no emplearé la expresión “megaproyecto”, porque es una alabanza en absoluto innecesaria, aparte de rimbombante).
Fui a caminar y conocer la Costanera Sur (una vía que se construyó como medida de mitigación para esta construcción), y realmente pasar por un costado de este proyecto cambia en absoluto la percepción que hasta antes tenía desde la Autopista Costanera Norte o la Avenida Santa María (pasando en buses del Transantiago o en automóvil). Desde un ambiente lleno de grandes torres, a pasar a ser peatón, la forma de percibir esta ciudadela de oficinas se torna más amable porque se denota un cuidado trabajo de paisajismo que otros proyectos no tienen (en especial la torre del Costanera Center) o bien, muchos de los emplazados en el sector (aunque en estos últimos esto es más bien justificable por cuanto deben maximizar su superficie construida).
Este trabajo de paisajismo se hace bueno, pero a la vez surgen más detalles por cuanto este emplazamiento se hace muy amable para los peatones. Hay grandes veredas instaladas, un parque relativamente grande que está construido no solamente para quienes vayan a trabajar en este lugar sino también para peatones del momento o para gente que quiera hacer “turismo urbano”, como también su altura hace de este conjunto un lugar más armónico (por ejemplo, no habrán grandes congestionamientos en las denominadas “horas punta” de los edificios de oficinas, digamos muy temprano por la mañana o durante la tarde, también incluyendo la hora de almuerzo) aunque siendo honesto también me encantan las grandes torres.
Ha sido un imán para grandes compañías (como Entel y BTG Pactual) y ya en este momento se está construyendo la tercera y última torre, que ha cambiado la faz de este lugar del nuevo barrio financiero de Santiago.
Bueno, antes de retirarme, espero que esta fotografía sea del gusto de todos los visitanes. Nos vemos en la próxima lectura y qué estén muy bien.

This ring features a bezel set titanium coil, the center of which is held in place by a flared silver tube. Set in the tube is a 14k gold ball.
I like the different tones of this ring-- the lightness of the silver, the weight of the titanium, the richness of the gold.
I found out you could get a CT scan in Serbia for about $100, so I went in today to get one so I could see what the end result was of my last surgery. I was worried the titanium might eventually migrate since it wasn't screwed into anything (I have been too afraid to go for a run since having it), but it looks like it's wedged in there pretty good (in fact, it goes all the way up to the roof of the orbit).
All in all it's a pretty impressive surgery, especially if you look at the position of the old implant (the horizontal line under the titanium mesh) and how ineffective it was at holding the eye in place.
I think in this shot I had put the camera on full auto just to see what it would do. Shot with my 100 F2. It was not long after this that the camera told me my memory card was full. It did not take very long for the 24 mega-pixel camera to fill a 1 gig memory card.

Wearing Hyundai paint code N5S, Titanium Gray Metallic came only on cars from the Ulsan, Korea plant. Elantras that were made in Alabama and got painted gray were shot in a darker hue called Harbor Gray Metallic (P3) which was also the color that adorned my lemon 2010 Santa Fe. I prefer Titanium better although every piece of documentation I have for the car (including a written warning for doing 66 in a 55 zone back in 2013) calls it silver except the window sticker. Love that metallic flake pop, though!

This is the world's largest ilmenite deposit with reserves of 400 million tonnes. Titania accounts for ten percent of the world's ilmenite production.
Titania was registered in the Kristiania trade register on 29 April 1902. Professor Peder Farup received a patent in Norway for the production of a titanium-containing dye in 1909, and together with Dr. Gustav Jebsen he developed methods for the industrial production of titanium dioxide for pigment in the following years (titanium white).
About 700,000 tonnes of finished ilmenite concentrate are produced annually. Ore and side rocks are crushed and go through a number of processes in order to supply ilmenite to Europe's and Asia's titanium pigment industry. The black ilmenite transforms into a pure, white substance – titanium dioxide. The application area for titanium dioxide is diverse. Among other things, the substance is used for paint and varnish, plastic, paper, rubber and cosmetics. In addition to the main product ilmenite, two by-products are also delivered, magnetite concentrate and sulphide concentrate.
