Healthy eating can be tricky. Here are some random tips I've picked up
Here's a random assortment of thoughts about common issues related tohealthy cooking:
Most people don't add measure the calories from cooking oils - one tablespoon of olive oil is typically 120 calories
Many healthy cooking recipes online are severely undercounting calories. They claim 500 calories when in reality they're closer to 800. Many do not include the seasonings, oils, or just simply underestimate how many calories food like bread and rice contain.
Eating healthy is expensive, cooking healthy is not expensive - it's time-consuming. The difficulty is the frequency in which you have to shop, however, people look at frozen vegetables as they're horrible. Buy frozen vegetables, they're around the same price as fresh, they have just as the high nutritional value, and they're a lot easier to buy and cook when you're ready
Mustard has zero calories. Cooking you should learn to love mustard because it's one of the few things you can include for the flavor that does not increase the calorie count
Beans beans beans, for whatever reason people in the health industry do not beans and meals as commonly as they should. Beans have one of the highest protein to serving size values, more so than many beef cuts.
