2025 Weekly Alphabet Challenge 20/52 ~ Tips

Tip:
Question "when using gels, what white balance do I select"
The answer is quite simple.
You shoot the colorchecker passport with normal strobes (so without the gels) now you use this as the setting and add the gels. This way the gels do exactly what they supposed to do.
Of course..... When shooting gels you are in the creative mood and you can change whatever you like.
Added note.
When using CTO gels for color correction you of course shoot with gels on. But this tip is about the creative use.

Rocked up at Eastern Creek landfill one Saturday and saw a couple of JJ Richards trucks parked beside each other with the drivers in conversation. Couldn’t resist spinning around at the tip face, driving forward and taking a nice snap of this duo together. Both are still very young trucks, one an 8-wheeler front-lift and the other a 6-wheeler rear loader. Only after comparing the two trucks did I realise that the rear and front loaders have a different striping scheme over the common dark green... kind of like a rear loader division and front-lift division with their own paint work. JJ Richards runs a lot of UrBins in Sydney now too; not too many JP5s left to find with what I’ve seen. Also seems like they got a handful of new front loaders recently, but still don’t know exactly how many older ones are left around. Guess it would have been sweet if both trucks had the tailgates raised and blades extended in the photo, but at least you get to see the wall of steel sticking out the back of the monster truck. I tell you I was pretty jealous seeing both of these machines considering the old Freightliner I took for a drive to the landfill. I would like to drive both of these kinds of trucks for JJR one day, but more so the twin steer!
