The burnt-tip orchid (Neotinea ustulata) is currently flowering in NP Lobau, Vienna. For me the flowering orchid season started today, since last weekend was too windy.

I took a lot of shots of this godwit, and I'm having a hard time deciding which ones I like enough to post, such that I don't end up posting too many that look mostly the same. Although this one is a bit further away than some of my others, I quite like her pose - a subtle tip-toe of the rear leg as she froze in her stride.

Tips for folding the CP. The two lower corners are the legs. The head is in between the legs, in the lower edge. The tail is in the center of the square (it requires a hard open sink). The wings are the upper part of the square. Start with a windmill base and shape the legs and fingers. Proceed with tail and after that, fold and shape the wings.

------------------------------------
