They say that baking bread, in a balloon, filled with bubbles, can be a tough skill to master. This morning Tiny Edward Saturday enjoyed the moment when his first floating loaf survived the peckish birds that glide on the bitter winds of Orphoous. From this day onwards all his rolls would become buns, and Tiny promised to dedicate each and every bagel to the waters of the Stymphalian Lake where he first learned to knead. And in return, the Lake enchanted his buns so that they would never sink, no matter what you fill them with.
Tiny Edward keeps steering right, all Saturday morning he has been righting this way. Consequently (and somewhat unintentionally) he is building up some rightwardly agitated molecules at the front. Tiny begins to feel toasty like a pine nut. He speeds up, regains all his balance, and passes some events. "Dog barks" remarks Tiny, then "Cat purrs" and "Mouse squeaks". All very unlikely as i am sure you will agree. Then one more passing event catches his eye as he pedals - "Tumble Dryer Sale" - and Tiny Edward Saturday simply cannot and will not believe that.
It is a slow day in the Saturday house, and we find Tiny Edward Saturday twisting balloons. In an astonishing turnaround he accidentally gets twisted back by the balloon he was twisting, and becomes a balloon lobster. Now lobstering is difficult when you are a balloon, the buoyancy, the constant squeaking. No matter which way he looks at it, Tiny is perturbed by this development. He searches his brain for a solution, and searches his kitchen for a pin. Then Tiny Edward Saturday realises: "balloon lobsters are way too advanced for me". He is normal again in a flash, but lets out one last squeak just for old time's sake.
As soon as he saw the sign he was curious - 'Smallest cheeses. Please come on inside'. Tiny Edward Saturday turned on the spot, and headed inside the department store. It didn't take long to find the next sign - '7th floor for cheese satisfaction'. He carried on straight for the elevator and pushed the button. This was one fantastic elevator, shiny, but not too shiny, great dot-matrix display, not altogether smelly. "What a pleasure" thought Tiny. The elevator stopped at the 7th floor, the doors opened. No cheese. Just another door and another elevator.
Hard to find and hardly ever open, there are many reasons to recommend The Museum of Fortunate Spillages: Stains and Blobs that entertain or solve complicated equations. So far, Tiny has collected 2 exhibits. Firstly, 12 crunchy breakfast hoops (that also offer a penetrating venn diagram analysis of hobby equipment for Squirrels). And a handkerchief blotched with bottle-green sun screen, which, from beneath can look like a frowning Frog. If you visit this cabinet of treasures, be sure to pick up a copy of the 400 page handbook written by Doctor Limbo. It's a good read but not a good pillow.
Sometimes, Tiny Edward Saturday gets into an epic space adventure. On occasion he will be swept up by a wandering crew of bee surgeons, and will live a wandering few weeks, surgically. It has been known for Tiny to set off for the park and end up elbow deep in Epic Bee Barons chanting his name and requesting old songs. This sunny afternoon he had a wide number of opportunities for such mischief, and so he sat, by his pool, in his white plastic garden chair, and began to decide. The chair collapses. You can never trust a white plastic garden chair.

Mister G, the magnetic goldfinch, is writing his memoirs again. This time he is tackling his own recollections and pecking the events of his eventful life, into word-sized mouthfulls. He remembers a bird feeder, and something else. "I think it might be a granule" he recalls that he might have thought to himself. However, he was wrong, or might have been. The nibble in question was the finger of a Tiny Edward Saturday, definately not a nut. Maybe this finger should start writing too, because after it grew back it would tell this exact story to the hand, supposedly.
This one afternoon, the one in question, the afternoon upon which this story will unravel, was nearly over. When an afternoon gets really late Tiny Edward Saturday has usually piled relaxation upon diversion and created a wobbling stack of time well spent. Tiny reached down to his left for a pen (he had a great idea for a story). Tiny had a large number of pens and organised them according to hotel. He was in no hurry and he moved his fingers slowly. So, slowly, his fingers brushed past an extra handle, entirely new and entirely unnecessary in his house. My goodness what a mystery.
There can surely be few more pernickety things than a tiny man moving an oak tree. And yet, this tiny man, our hero Tiny Edward Saturday, has moved many trees. As it happens, trees move best at dawn. As the sun rises you can achieve a level of obedient neatness that would be quite impossible during the afternoon. This particular landscaping endeavour is a lifelong obsession for Tiny, he has a singular vision. One day, when his oak circle is perfect and complete, he will sit right in the centre and wait for the world's first nut whirlwind.

Legend tells of a key, a hotel room key with special powers. It usually opens room 501 but on it's day off it can also reveal the Eight Astonishing Drips. Intended as a message from the Fog Kingdom to Tiny Edward Saturday, these droplets are elusive and delicate. You must arrange the correct sequence of cups and bowls, paying attention to both diameter and colour. Once the network is complete Tiny will finally hear The Song of Urgent Fidgeting: a great tune and very very catchy.
There are all kinds of entertaining and bemusing challenges that Tiny Edward Saturday faces every day in his life. Luckily he can count on his good friend and former around-the-world sailing partner - Fortescue - to help. Today Tiny has a delicate problem with a leaning TV. In steps Fortescue and performs the fix with his multiprong. He is confident and whistles tunefully while he works. Now the TV is straight again, but all the green needs mowing watering and weeding every morning. Another problem, and yet not a problem at all because Tiny loves to have his friend visit for fixes and whistles.
For a minute, or maybe two, he wasn't sure if he had woken up at all. Soon after he had decided that his eyes were definately open, Tiny Edward Saturday began to remember his dream. Just like every other morning he remembered his dream in reverse. Firstly, he forgot his favourite shirt, was it striped? Most likely it was orange, and striped. Immediately afterwards Tiny got out of bed, and his feet were so happy to feel the carpet. Then, one stripe at a time he forgets his dream, and forgets that he remembered it.
The first thing you notice is that you have noticed something. Nothing else has changed but that. Perhaps the brain need not be involved at all, just the eyes. Tiny Edward Saturday walked under a bridge, a drippy one, and noticed, coming the other way was a familiar face. Signals begin to form in his brain - wondering signals. Then his eyes say to his brain "Why didn't you say something?" His brain and his eyes have a discussion. The face stopped under the bridge, and smiled, and said "Are you Tiny?", and Tiny said yes. And the face said "I am exactly who you think i am", and he was.
A good sleep is a wonderful thing, but sometimes a good thing can be less than entirely the same at the end of the good sleep in question. Tiny Edward Saturday is truly great at sleeping, you might say he is a master craftsman of slumber. The unusual happens in the morning, after the victory of the night is concluded. Sandwiches have become slices, shelves have become planks, sentences have become letters, pieces of deconstruction can be found throughout his house. Incredibly, it would seem Tiny Edward Saturday is capable of turning tiny bits of time back on themselves each night, as he undoes what he did the day before.
There is a time within a long journey when there is only movement, no other aspect is relevant any more. Tiny Edward Saturday had grown accustomed to this feeling, he had been going on a very long journey, for a very long time. He had travelled through past and over, and sometimes both. He had no idea where he was going, but since he began his journey he had accumulated a packing container and filled it with souvenirs, so he decided to make this container his home. He moved in amongst the items, along gaps and crevices. He was not at all comfortable but he would stay here, until the next tale.
