MOUTH FIGHT III -- Brunhilde and Blossom in a full-bore mouth fight!

Brunhilde has had not the least bit of fear of Blossom since we brought her home. Here she shows off her teeny-tiny jaws of death. Blossom, for her part, seems pleased to have a new little friend to fill the void left by the loss of her brother, Luther, may he rest in peace. Taken in January 2008 with Brunhilde approximately 3 months old

Linda cradles our new baby girl, little fearless brindle Brunhilde Marie Hudson, for a portrait, February 2008. Spunky. Many folks claim their dogs are spunky. This one really is. ©2008 John M. Hudson | jmhudson1.com

The way dogs hunt: Break the prey away from the herd and turn it toward the other dog. Darlene is not excited about being triangulated by Blossom and Brunhilde. Blossom's being seriously "playful," and Brunie is still too much of a puppy infant to know what's going on.

Jack, Blossom and Linda at the National Radio Astronomical Observatory in Green Bank, W.Va. -- more Ph.Ds per square mile than any other place in the state. That's the hugely famous -- and famously huge -- Green Bank Telescope off in the distance. It's a lot farther away than it looks, is hundreds of feet tall (taller than the Washington Monument) and can hold a football field or two in its dish. June 17, 2006

MOUTH FIGHT II -- Brunhilde continues to work at getting Blossom started.

Blossie is one happy puppy. How can you look at this picture and not anthropomorphize about how happy is this puppy? July 27, 2005

Brunhilde: ''Dad's home! Dad's home! Didja bring me anything? Didja? Didja, huh? Didja, huh?'' (It's impossible not to anthropomorphize with cairns.)

Luther naps in a shady spot in the front yard and cuddles in the soft, thick grass with his tennis ball. Spring 2003. (RIP Luther, killed in by vehicle on June 11, 2006 -- a dark day indeed.)

Brunhilde Marie Hudson, our newest baby. We brought her home last night, New Years Eve 2007, from Angels of Assisi in Roanoke. She was born on Nov. 1, 2007, which makes her 2 mos. old, and she's a fearless little sweetie. And big dang ears, eh? They're not sticking up yet; that's gravity doing its work since she's lying down. ©2007 John M. Hudson | jmhudson1.com

The answer is: "To get to the other side." Why did Luther cross the road with a half of a dead bunny? (You can see its head and two little legs in his mouth.) (RIP Luther, killed in by vehicle on June 11, 2006 -- a dark day indeed.)
