The past through rose tinted glasses - - we tend to "drop" the less pleasing memories.
Researchers suggest it could be that good memories persist longer than bad - helping to keep the human race happy and resilient.
Psychologists say that holding onto our good memories - and leaving the bad ones behind - helps us to deal with unpleasant situations and retain a positive outlook on life.
It was 80 years ago that the idea of negative memories fading faster was first proposed.
Back in the 1930s psychologists collected recollections about life events like people's holidays - marking them as pleasant or unpleasant.
Weeks later an unannounced request came from the researchers to recall their memories.
Of the unpleasant experiences nearly 60% were forgotten - but only 42% of the pleasant memories had faded.

Thanks to Nick Hall and Mike Ridley for there comments earlier where they suggested B&W converstion for my earlier misty shot. Thought I would give it ago with another of the shots from this morning. Added a slight sepia tint to it as well and I really like how its turned out... thanks guys.
As I had looked out of a window of a shopping mall that had a distinct green tint to it, this is the view that I saw.
A combination of old and new buildings, combining together to create a landscape with a surrealist feel.
To preserve the character of the scenery that I had seen, I decided not to clean up the picture, compared to a similar picture from my other art portfolio.
A simple and casual city landscape picture, as seen from a green-tinted window in a shopping mall.

Edited with VSCO Film preset from RAW file in Adobe Lightroom. Further editing and watermark placement to JPG file done in Adobe Photoshop CC.
Constructive feedback is welcome and appreciated.

Special:
- The original Series 62 was designed by Harley Earl, inspired by the space program and the era of jet engines. For the ’55 models, he introduced its unique rear-deck styling and outrageous new “Shark Fin” tail fins usually called “Rocket-Ship” tail fins.
- The name "DeVille" is from the French "de la ville" or "de ville" meaning "of the town".
- It came standard with knobby, P-38 inspired tail fins, radio, electric windshield washers, heater, leather interior, full carpeting (also in the trunk area), power seats and power windows.
- This Cadillac was built for comfort and not for speed: it’s a real cruiser and could carry six individuals comfortably.
- The 1956 Cadillac Series 62, with its new gadgets like the head lights would turn on at dusk and were also capable of switching from high beam to low beam when they sensed oncoming traffic. was available as this 4-door Sedan DeVillle, as 56-6219 4-door Sedan (26,222 units built), as 56-6237DX 2-door Coupé DeVille (24,086 units built), as 56-6237 2-door Sport Coupé (26,649 units built), as 56-6267SX 2-door Eldorado Seville Coupé (3,900 units built), as 56-6267S 2-door Eldorado Biarritz Convertible (2,150 units built) and as 56-6267X 2-door Convertible (8,300 units built).
