Now that I have transferred all my photos safely on to Mama Retina I am not sure if I will ever leave my apartment EVER again. Everything looks fabulous in the world of Mama R, the detail is exquisite and when I go full screen on a shot I feel like I am there and also all of your, my fine flickr friends, shots look even more wonderful too.
We had two rose tinted mornings last week which were a real spectacle. I woke up right as the first morning was happening - everything had turned pink as did I too with shame that I had not got up earlier. So the next morning I was down super early at Bronte thinking maybe there will be leftover pink and sure enough there was :).
For years I have wanted Beautyberry growing in my yard. But life, weather and insects conspired against me.
The colors... grape green to deep magenta! The songs of visiting birds! Last years bushes are now in full fruit and their spaced clusters of berries are ripening from green to pinky purple. Even the veins of the leaves have a purplish tint. I love the texture of the edge of the tiny leaf above the green berry cluster in this image. And the deep hazy purple tones in the background.

Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.
La vita non si misura da quanti respiri facciamo, ma dai momenti che ci tolgono il respiro.

I'd seen some of these at a distance on the road up but it was nice to get a close shot. Looks like an immature bird.

Every colorful sunrise and sunset has its own personality. This particular morning's sunrise showed a lot of potential but could only muster this very brief flare.
Taken at the moment of sunrise.
Picture of the Day
Slow day out photographing, but this little green hairstreak (Callophrys rubi) obediently obliged and posed for my camera.
Here's a white rose with hints of green, seen in a 60-frame focus stack. I'm using green sequined fabric for the backdrop, and I'm shining a hand-held LED panel lamp above the flower. By coincidence, I'm watching the world-champion Celtics, who wear green and white uniforms.

As I had looked out of a window of a shopping mall that had a distinct green tint to it, this is the view that I saw.
A combination of old and new buildings, combining together to create a landscape with a surrealist feel.
To preserve the character of the scenery that I had seen, I decided not to clean up the picture, compared to a similar picture from my other art portfolio.
A simple and casual city landscape picture, as seen from a green-tinted window in a shopping mall.

Wait, Flickr doesn't have friends lists.
Crop of a larger shot, again slightly tinted - the sparkles are natural, though :D.
