'The artist is the confidant of nature, flowers carry on dialogues with him through the graceful bending of their stems and the harmoniously tinted nuances of their blossoms. '
- Auguste Rodin
It is a labour of love for me to find 'different' lighting and angles to bring out their unique beauty, the petals so tightly concentrated in the heart and cascading out in full glory.
And then, the smaller variety, in sprays, with curling petals!
Another aspect of Chrysanthemum, tightly packed, a true Autumn flower, built against rain, wind and cold?
The name "chrysanthemum" is derived from the Greek words chrysos (gold) and anthemon (flower)
Chrysanthemums, sometimes called mums or chrysanths, are flowering plants of the genus Chrysanthemum in the family Asteraceae.
They are native to Asia and northeastern Europe.
Most species originate from East Asia and the center of diversity is in China.
Chrysanthemums were first cultivated in China as a flowering herb as far back as the 15th century BC.
The flower was brought to the Western World in the 17th century.
There are about 40 valid species and countless horticultural varieties and cultivars.
For many years, chrysanthemum signifies praise and admiration.
A chrysanthemum is considered as a noble flower of the Chinese noble class.
Wishing you a day full of good light and thank you for your visit, M, (*_*)

Picture taken with a very early Kodak Pocket, made in 1895; Fomapan 100 35mm film respooled as 102 roll-film; developed with HC110.
A path in Perafita, Catalonia.
Some photos with one of the oldest film cameras I have, an 1895 Kodak Pocket. The 102 format stopped being made in 1949, and is almost impossible to find, even expired. Luckily I have two 102 spools, so I created an imitation of 102 roll-film: cutting the backing paper from the usual 120 format and using 35mm film as a replacement for the original film, which was of quite similar size.
"Keep me in your prayers
Got me runnin' scared
You turn me into someone I don't wanna be
But I don't even care though
I'm dead and unaware though
I only feel alive when you hurt me.
Don't tempt with those tinted eyes."
Max is being tinted (tainted?) by an off-color video called "It's Potty
Time," a circa 1980s toilet training program that a neighbor lent us. I
found the cast to be borderline creepy: A little fairy-like man shows
up in various bathrooms while preschoolers are presumably using the
toilet (mercifully G-rated camera angles). At a birthday party, the
clown interrupts his show to personally escort the birthday boy and 2
young male guests to the bathroom. Max was smitten with the song
"You're a Super Dooper Pooper," and asked for encores ad nauseam. I
think I have to return this thing.
In other news: just got some noise filter software called Neat Image. All the cool
kids use Noise Ninja, but after demo-ing both, I just felt a little
more comfy with Neat Image (plus I'm not so cool).

LUCKY ME! As a member of HEC's Hot and Elegant group, I won one of their many giveaway contests today and walked away with this FAB new dress. It's tintable, so the color options are endless and I control the transparency and glow, meaning this little baby can go from a semi sheer nightie to a jaw-dropper club dress in a couple of clicks! Today I was feeling kind of girlie and retro, so here's the first pic...
I had to wash them all so I thought I'd at least get the pleasure of photographing them lined up in a row before putting them away.

Bit of fun with the colour gels.
Grasshoppers can be found throughout Philippines in gardens, fields, woodlands, and basically any other area with vegetation. Because they can live and travel to a variety of areas in search of food, they can be difficult to control. They make holes in the tissue of the plant as well as the leaves. Fruits may look as if they are not developing correctly.

RPPC. There are several chickens at the side of the house, near the steps. Photo by CE Pearson, Wanamingo, Minnesota. He worked there from 1909-1910. It's difficult to see, but there's a nice starburst detail above the upstairs windows.
