Heavy marine layer gave a green-grey tint to everything... sky, water, sand... perfectly matching the coloration of this Harbor Seal who seemed to be following me down the beach. Imagination, I know, but when you have the name Selkii...

I uploaded this in black and white and decided to add some tint with picnik...they have so many colors to choose from I got overwhelmed and settled for this...oh well.. on explore at #473 May 14/09

Today's Friday Rose "Winchester Cathedral" is an English rose variety, bred in 1988 by the famous rose breeder David Austin. It is an upright rose bush of medium height (100 cm) with glossy English green foliage. The flowers are full and flat, white in colour, with slightly crumpled petals and a few buff tints. They are deliciously fragrant, with hints of honey and almond. The flowering is very vigorous and abundant.

Seen in the botanical garden "Schloß Trauttmansdorff" in Meran.

On Feb. 16, 1976, the Denver & Rio Grande Western assigned a six axle locomotive to work train No. 668, the Tintic Local out of Provo, Utah. Yard trackage in United State's Steel's limestone quarry at Keigley on Tintic Branch was poorly maintained. Rio Grande SD7 5300 had a tough time that day, and nearly derailed numerous times. The experiment was never repeated.

Union Pacific SD40-2s No. 3302, 3603, and 3768 pull a Yermo - Salt Lake City manifest under Rio Grande’s Tintic Branch trestle in Payson, Utah on a sunny but frigid January 7, 1988 morning in southern Utah County.

Rio Grande GP30 No. 3003 leads a 30 car Tintic Local across the Dry Creek trestle just outside Springville, Utah on March 23, 1994. This section of track runs through the middle of a subdivision today.

I went over to Akaroa for my Covid lock down. I was already packed up to go over when our level changed from level 2 straight to level 4. I spent the five weeks there without any other contact with the outside world apart from phone calls. It was a bit lonely on my own but I had the birds bees to keep me company.
