Created for Erin, who loves Tinkerbell

Greeting the visitors as they arrive

Tinkerbell! I commissioned this from Mary. It is lime green stretch velvet! I love velvet and my favorite color is lime green. She also made the wings, the wig, the shoes and bloomers (which you naturally can't see).

It's actually a corset and laces up the back where the wings slip in.

Picture from walkerspace.

Have the day off since her sitter is sick, so we tried on her halloween costume - which she hates. It's very scratchy and has a fairly tight band around the waist. Will have to figure out what to put under it.

Difficult to get a decent shot when she literally smiles for 15 seconds. The rest of the time is thrashing around trying to rip the costume off.

Reia recently watched a Tinkerbell DVD and became completely mesmerized. Tinkerbell also happens to be Elle's fav character, so she bought/made this cute costume for Reia. Once Reia saw it, she completely believed she could fly – and even told Elle that she wanted to fly to school. Later that evening, I gave Elle a birthday gift that had a nice little pouch and Reia immediately asked if she could use the pouch for her pixie dust. Classic.

July 2010: All white cake with buttercream and fondant decorations. Tinkerbell is a purchased cake topper.

Disney crosses the line by sexualizing Tinkerbell to mimic the "Mudflap Girl" silhouette. The original Tinkerbell may have been cute, but overtly sexualized imagery does not belong on clothing to be worn by very young girls, like this extra small shirt in the children's section of the World of Disney store in Downtown Disney. See more Disney-sexualized Tinkerbells.
