My first four-spotted chaser of the year and strangely on the same date as last year.

I was just in position to take this photo and lo and behold, a bee shows up and works his duty around this zinnia. Great timing on his part!

Had to wait for a fair while timing this shot between train arrivals and people coming down escalator to board trains but I think it was worth the short time waiting around.

There is a nice clock on the far wall but is sadly hidden by the standard uplighters. I tried to incorporate this but the lack of symmetry did nothing for the shot.

In case anyone knows the bride or groom and thinks they might like the pictures (we have a few), the wedding was at the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Mellieħa at around 5pm on 24th March 2023.

We were looking at Parish Church on the way back from our walk and wandered over to where two people were looking down on the Sanctuary Church - the Churches are next door to each other, but are at different levels. They had been waiting 30 minutes for the bride to arrive, we were lucky as she arrived 5 minutes after we did :-)

Candid street photography from Glasgow, Scotland. Captured early on a Sunday on my way to meet the attendees of my street photography workshop. I just love the timing of this shot, the heel and toe touching the ground, and the triangle of sunlight pointing towards the subject. Enjoy!

It's timing that counts when you open and close the shutter. Am still lousy. ;)

i got lucky again

Dwight stopped by work on Thursday. I guess there has been a problem with someone "sniping" his food that I've been leaving out. I guess we will have to figure out a new system.

But it just so happened that I had received a VERY generous donation of coats, boots, socks, underwear, etc... at work that day. I had just put it away in the anticipation that I would need it easily accessible, and I was right. He couldn't believe his good timing.

I did this one for Saint Patrick's day kind of late I know :-) I've been really rusty with shooting water droplets!! It's been a while since I did my last one (Red meets water) I'm overwhelmed after checking my stats on my image (Red meets water) to find it #1 most interesting out of all my collection. I dedicate this beautiful image to you all as my way of saying thank you!! Seen on Flickr Explore #171 2009-03-17

Nature calls. Not sure if this is good or bad timing...

Lucked into timing this shot just right to have the gap in the alley filled not only with a person walking, but also a car driving through.

With a bit of patience and timing, the natural world provides some stunning photographic opportunities - like this giraffe perfectly placed against a yellow moon.

Ever since we first saw that mesmerizing image of the underwater waterfall, visiting Mauritius had been on our travel bucket list. A bit of research revealed that October is one of the best times to go. The weather is warm and pleasant, yet the island has not yet filled up with the Christmas crowds.

The challenge, however, was always the timing. Our trips have to align with the school holidays, and every year during that period, we have had social events where my wife plays an active role, making it impossible to be away. But this year was different. The annual gathering took place earlier in the month and that finally opened the window for our long-awaited Mauritius getaway.

Of course, no trip to Mauritius is complete without exploring its stunning lagoons by boat and what better way to do it than on a traditional pirate ship? These majestic vessels are not only a photographer’s dream but also offer a unique way to experience the island’s beauty. Photography was one of my main motivations for booking the trip though.

Because of the unpredictable weather, I wanted to wait until the last minute to confirm our booking. But that came with its own hiccups. Pirate ships are in high demand, so we had to shuffle a few plans around to make it work. In hindsight, though, it was absolutely worth it.

The colors of the water, the warmth and hospitality of the crew and the sheer beauty of the experience were simply unforgettable.

And here it is, a bird’s-eye view of our pirate ship, anchored in the crystal-clear lagoon where we spent hours snorkelling among live corals and thousands of vibrant fish.

If you want to know a bit more about our visit to Mauritius, you can have a look at the short film where we documented the entire journey.

A month ago, I posted a picture of this tree and titled it, "Cliche." I had taken a dozen shots and didn't see this one with the crow flying into it until recently. I usually don't bother with images that have birds flying through them but I did like this one.

The weather was glorious during a summer holiday taken on the Isle of Wight during July 1990. Seen here en route to Alum Bay is Southern Vectis 510 (VOD 595S) . Had I been late by a couple of minutes or positioned differently, I would not have been able to capture this. Indeed, everything is about the Perfect Timing.

I actually had to take a break every minute from looking at the screen while processing as the blur made me dizzy but i kind of like it because of it :).
