Second build for #timeforcrab 2025! I'll have a more serious one next...
Remember, Time for Crab is open to everyone and runs for the whole month of July. Build a crustacean, share your crustacean, and enter a raffle to win a signed copy of 40781 Badnik: Crabmeat!
This crustacean was built for the #tealsquadron display which is set on an ocean planet, so of course it needed some sea creatures. Compared to a minifigure it’s a giant lobster – the fauna in Star Wars tends to be intimidating. Currently it’s #timeforcrab in the building community but hopefully #timeforlobster isn’t too much of a sideways move.

One of the few peaceful denizens of the Pit, the Karauna have no natural predator. Matoran researchers have found evidence pointing to latent psychoactive abilities compelling any living being in close proximity to either leave the Karauna alone, or regard it as a friend.
The species gained a reputation for having a comically naive disposition, as they have no fear response but are naturally curious. The golden protrusion above their eyes earned them the nickname "kings of the Pit".

Relatively quiet year for MOCs as priorities shifted to other areas of life.

Most likely would have had even fewer if some friends,
Pohutaron and Maxx Davidson, had not organized a creative calender challenge throughout the year that helped me remember to join quite a few fun theme months: Droneuary, Febrovery, Marchitecture, TimeforCrab, Frogust, and Novvember.
-
Of course, over the summer had to do some castle building with John as we hosted the Summer Joust again. Which was super fun and rewarding. Thanks a lot to all of you who participate, or otherwise engage, and make the event what it is.

My biggest project of the year was a revamp of the Grand Titan, a contribution to the massive Exo Force collaborative displayed at Skaerbaek Fan Weekend. Everyone clearly had a blast building for it, and the final result was epic for sure!

2026 looks to be another slow year for MOCs, though I'll still get at least a few things finished.

On the product design side, February 2025 marked my 5 year anniversary as a designer at The LEGO Group, which felt pretty crazy. And a bunch of new sets I worked on hit shelves. Including some for themes I had not worked on before: One Piece and Architecture.
I remain incredibly blessed and thankful to work with amazing people doing something I truly enjoy.
Hey! These were built back in 2019. I think they were meant to go with my bigger crab.
Not much time for building Lego these days but I haven't given it up yet. And I'm itching to edit my backlog of photographed stuff. Baby steps.
Just don't dig straight down...

This year is actually my third year of being part of the Lego community and it's been amazing. I've been able to make so many mocs and meet so many people online and in real life!
In total, I created 50 mocs this year which is crazy but I don't think I'll ever beat that number again :/
Actually it's 52 but there are 2 projects I can't really reveal yet.
______________________________
For this recap, unlike last year, I'll not do a recap in detail linking every mocs. I'll just explain the moc I've not posted and the achievements
- The bowl with breakfast food in it was made for Iron Forge.
- The cyberpunk-ish moc was made for an activity that I organized on Les Briqueurs where people had to do a moc using +25 tires
- The plane was made for a friend of mine, who loves planes.
- The kayak crab was made when I was in holiday with Lego I had found in a second hand store, for #timeforcrab
- The esgaroth microscale was also for a friend of mine who happens to be a builder as well: Slippin_jimmysbricks
I'm happy to have organized my first activity NovHENber with the help of Carson, thanks to him :)
I got lucky enough to be able to write an article for The Brother Bricks on a style Ground-Based. I really enjoyed writting it
I won first place of Vignweek and got the Conquering Hero of Summer Joust which is crazy.
I attend to my first convention with french builder, the best weekend of the year, simply. It was too good and I met so many people :)

Last year I made the white/orange Manas crab and he was very well received, this year I made the black/yellow variant to go alongside his menace of a sibling.
An ancient harbinger arises from the depths. Whatever destruction it leaves in its wake is a mere warning - for its crusted kin shall soon overrun the earth.

This build is pulling double duty as my contribution to Kaijune and as the kickoff for Time for Crab 2025!
This year's Time for Crab crustacean collaboration open to all builders takes place during the month of July. Anyone and everyone is invited to build and post crabs, crab-adjacent MOCs, crustacean-inspired objects or vehicles; anything that's recognizably crabby.
If you post your crab between the 1st of July and 31st of July with the 'timeforcrab' tag here on Flickr or on Instagram, you'll enter a raffle. When the time for crab draws to a close, we'll randomly pick one contributor to receive a copy of 40781 Badnik: Crabmeat from the LEGO Sonic the Hedgehog lineup, kindly signed by the designer Maxx Davidson.

As the end of the month draws near, remember this: it is ALWAYS time for crab.
Turaga Teridax was already against having a hyperactive miniature Manas crab racing around the catacombs of his hideout under the island, let alone the second that appeared not long after. But alas, seeing how his sons have grown so close to these little pests, he couldn't bring himself to banish them. He really cares too much for his sons.

All crustaceans are welcome, and your build can be anything recognizably crustacean-inspired. Be it an actual crab, a fantasy crab, a mech, a spaceship, a castle or anything else - just make it vaguely resemble crab! The primary venues of Time for Crab are Flickr and Instagram, but feel free to share your crabs far and wide. Spread the word, and invite your friends to join!
The ambition is to make this an annually recurring month-long open collab, always taking place in this same timeframe. Let's get the ball rolling.
It's Time for Crab!
