This class is called "Configuration Of Your imagination" ! We covered this with papers and added all the great goodies you see on this piece! Everything furnished in the kits, except for the bird nest and the birds you see on top! I added those after I came home, as I thought it would be the perfect place for those items. I have had these little birds for years in my stash, and they were just waiting for the right project to come along...and it did!!

This is one of the most impressive art exhibits I have ever seen. Simply amazing!
This exhibit ends 8/28/2005 so if you live in the L.A. area, take the time to go see this exhibit.

How to get in to the museum for free if you can not afford it or do not want to spend the money:
The King Tut exhibit is going on right now. With the purchase of that ticket, you get access to the whole museum.
Find a person leaving the museum and ask them if you could get there ticket.
You make make up some sap story about how you need to do a report on the exhibit, but you drove allt he way from San Diego and realized you forgot your wallet, or some shit like that.
Definately worth seeing, but there is less then two weeks left.
Tim is the twin brother to my Liz, the wife of my nephew Joe. He came down from New York to Timmy's birthday in New Jersey.
I am 'smiling' in some in an attempt to show my broken front tooth. Damn. That is going to cost some. Fortunately it was the tooth that I had already killed, and had root removed, at age 12 after playing doubles table tennis.
I was riding along side the Kamo River in Kyto on a rental bike. The bike had a short wheel-base/crossbar and I had extended the seat post up to its highest extent. The bike had fat mountain bike tirers, and really good brakes. The path sloped down to go under a bridge and for a split second I thought, aha, perhaps this is a staitcase and braked. Due to the short wheel-base, the effectiveness of the front brake and my speed, I did a reverse wheely, and dived into the concrete head first. Blood spurted out into my glasses. A very kind jogger coming the other way looked horrified and said, "shall I call an ambulance," I said "How bad it is?" and he said "Pretty bad." Bearing in mind the fact that blood had spurted out onto my glasses and that I had just dived into the concrete path at 30kmph I decided that an ambulance was in order. The kind gentleman waited for the ambulance to arrive. He kept telling me to sit down but I was all hyped up on andrenaline and was in no mood for sitting. I walked back and forth wondering when I would feel nauseous (the first sign of brain bleeding I believe) pushing my front tooth back into position.
The ambulance took me to Kyoto University hospital where a team of about 4 doctors and apprentice doctors stitched me up. I don't mind having a small scar. Two days later the wound is healing well. The CT scan showed that I have no brain bleeding and a thick un-fractured skull. If it were not for my broken tooth it would have been quite an interesting touristic experience.
Tourists beware. When renting a bicycle check out what happens when you brake, at a low speed.

The photography department at the university of Newcastle isn't exactly what I was expecting, but they do have large format cameras and film to burn. Unfortunately their Linhof Technica had a rotten bellows when I had my first go, so this is one of the few sheets that weren't fucked by light leaks.
House mate Tim in our living room, Sunpak 120J into a reflective Umbrella to his right, close by and above, SB-28 fired into the background. PW's for triggering.
Linhof Technica 4x5, Nikkor 135mm, right swing and front tilt, 1/250 at F/16 on HP5. The amount of detail is incredible, as is the control over DOF. If I'm not getting a 4x5, I'm getting a tilt/shift lens for sure.
