Yeah, life is complicated.

But it is usually far less complicated than we think.

Most of the time complication is in our heads.

The beautiful Lake District

Wast Water or Wastwater is a lake located in Wasdale, a valley in the western part of the Lake District National Park, England. The lake is almost 3 miles long (4.6 km) and more than a third of a mile (600 m) wide. It is the deepest lake in England at 258 feet (79 m), and is owned by the National Trust. It is one of the finest examples of a glacially 'over-deepened' valley. The surface of the lake is about 200 feet above sea level, while its bottom is over 50 feet below sea level.

This is a shot from the last wedding that we covered.

This is a free-lensed tilt shifted macro. Take a good look at the focal plane. Not the usual way you always see it aroung.

Thanks to Ryan Brenizer and his amazing techniques.

By the way, we are the only people in the country doing this staff in weddings. :)

С днём рождения!

The return of Pink Floyd - painted by Phillip Adams (2021) on the south facing walls of Mya apartment block in Salt Lake City.

en fait, celle-là n'était jamais partie, mais ce soir, va savoir pourquoi, elle m'a donné envie de relire ou de revoir la pièce de Friedrich Dürrenmatt...

ou comment donner un peu de vernis de culture à une carte postale...;-)

One of North York Moors more popular waterfall, Thomason Foss near Beck Hole, Goathland.

It is quite a challenge to get to this waterfall with a steep walk upto the level of the railway track then a sharp drop down to the stream level over steep steps, rocky boulders and boggy, muddy paths.

A shot of Frankfurt´s covered market hall (Kleinmarkthalle).

If I would translate Kleinmarkthalle literally it would be like: small market hall, so I thought a little tilt & shift action fits the title better ;-)

Always nice to go there shopping for fresh ingredients or just for lunch, you can get nearly everything there!

Més sobre Tilt-Shift: 1 - 2 - 3

Wow! What a push set by my partner, Alison [why not check out her stream for some great images: www.flickr.com/photos/photogrl1324/ ] this week.

Whilst I was aware of the technique I had never attempted such a shot before. What pleased me the most about this challenge was having to research & try out the technique. I don't possess a specialised tilt & shift lens and wasn't keen to fork out the mega bucks needed to get one and so it was, after much searching of my photo archives that I tried, I read, I failed; I tried again, I read again & yet again failed even more miserably than before. This really was a tough one for me and I had planned a trip to the city to try and take a shot specifically for the challenge. And then it was that my youngest son called round this morning and he is quite an accomplished graphic designer cum image manipulator. He asked what I was working on and how I was getting on with PS Elements. I said take a look and see, here's what I've been trying to do all week. After showing him a couple of images I had been working on I said that really the best one without going out to take more shots, was the one I did for Get Pushed Round 5 but that I couldn't get it just quite right.

Well after a few more attempts and some considerable trial and error, he showed me a couple of neat enhancement tricks which suddenly made everything 'pop'.....well at least to my eyes. After he left I opened up the original image again and began working on it and here is the result of my first tilt and shift image.

Did I achieve the challenge? I'm sure I shall soon find out!!!! LOL

Thank you, Alison for a great push; it so inspired and stretched me which was much appreciated. I also learnt a new post processing trick which I'm sure I will try again in the future.
