This is a Herzog Railroad Services six-car, two-cab (HZGX 175), specialized train on the CN’s Dundas Sub at Paris, Ontario. Two modified excavators equipped with grapples ride on rails atop six gondola-style cars. Lengths of recently replaced rail are picked up by the grapples from beside the main line and deposited into the cars for removal to a reclamation site. The grapples are interchangeable with magnets for retrieving smaller items.
