John Lewis was the design-engineer, effectively the designer of the Ord River Diversion Dam. In the early 1960s John Leis was in charge of a PWD survey of Tidal Power along the Kimberley coast from King Sound to the Cambridge Gulf. A paper was published by the Institute of Engineers Australia.
