It was abstract even before I started messing with it. Now post-processed to the max. Happy Sliders Sunday!
This is a photo of ripples in a wind blown tidal pool, and patterns in the sand created by the tide at Port Maitland Beach.
The sunrise cast a gilded pink light over Iona Beach this morning when I arrived. The tide was far out on the bay, and thousands of Snow Geese glowed like lavender coals at the tide-line. I wandered my aimless path around Iona, alert and open.
I saw this juvenile Northern Harrier flying low above the beach-side, and was magnetically drawn toward where I saw it swooping. As I passed a few shrubs, I was astounded to see it resting on a stump not more than thirty-five feet away.
I sat on a nearby log and we spent five minutes watching, watching and listening to each other and the calls of the Snow Geese rolling across the tidal flats.

Red Tidal marker just outside of the entrance to Mont. St. Michel, France. The entire Castle/Town rises right out of the water, and at high-tide, becomes an island surrounded by sea. As surreal a place in person as it is in pictures.

The awesome high tides this week filled the outdoor pool at Tynemouth. There was a nice bit of colour in the sky, shame I was too late to catch the best of it.
