Diplodocus sp. - adult left tibia (back leg bone) from a sauropod dinosaur in the Jurassic of Utah, USA. (DNM 3810, Dinosaur National Monument, Utah, USA)
Sauropod dinosaurs were the largest terrestrial animals ever. They all have the same basic body plan: large body with four walking legs, very long neck & tail, and a small head relative to body size. Sauropods were herbivores, and are often perceived as holding their heads & necks up high to reach vegetation normally out of reach to other organisms. Modern reconstructions of many sauropod species depict them with heads and necks held close to the horizontal, or at low angles above the horizontal.

the mri was really not bad. it took about 25 minutes or so. I had earplugs in but I could still hear the noise that my mom described as "sounding like the 'aliens' in Contact." It is very industrial sounding.
I have tons of photos of the knee now. It's very cool/interesting. Is my medial meniscus torn? I'm not sure. If so, it's a pretty minor or hard to see tear I think (and in this shot it looks 100% fine, it's other shots that make it look like there might be a tear). I meet with my orthopaedist tomorrow to discuss the MRI results.
Until then, I stare at cool pictures of my knee.

But originally ringed as pullus on July 01 2001 at Rotterdam (Maasvlakte), the Netherlands (5157.00 N 402.00 E) by ringer Norman D. van Swelm. In 2001 ringed red tarsus E556 and white E. Nowadays partner of ZW-NT.

The Catacombs of Paris are an underground ossuary located south of the former city gate near Place Denfert-Rochereau. It holds the remains of about 6 million people and fills a renovated section of caverns and tunnels that are the remains of Paris's stone mines. Opened in the late 18th century, the underground cemetery became a tourist attraction on a small scale from the early 19th century, and has been open to the public on a regular basis from 1874. Some of the arrangements are almost artistic in nature, such as a heart-shaped outline in one wall formed with skulls embedded in surrounding tibias; another is a round room whose central pillar is also a carefully created 'keg' bone arrangement. The Catacombs open at 10AM, be there at 9 to avoid a long long line. See more photos.
