not Thunder Dome, but Terror Dome. aka Holmesburg Prison

I've doubted to post this uncropped version. Posting the same photo again is not my standard. Even tough uncropped and the colors less saturated I love it that much, so I've chosen to share it again...

Thank you Rage for creating the Dome and The NITE team for the event

Chasing thunderstorms last night and Pfew... What a thrill!. Particularly when you're in the middle of nowhere, far from the safety of a building, surrounded by kilometers of flat landscape, near coast and surrounded by hundreds of bolts: big, long, bright and scary ones.

Most definitely the heaviest thunderstorm I witnessed in 20 years or so. The weather condition was a heaven for any thunderstorm junky. Changes that you were able to photograph even some beautiful strikes in a row were almost a 100 percent. And yes, I got more nice shots from this series, I'm not finished yet...

However, the experience of photographing thunderstorms with a DSLR is relatively new for me and it has already taught me a couple of lessons for the next time. Apart from technical stuff in regards to exposure and maybe better not mounting an ultra-wide angle again, I learned that when things go really insane a prober shelter is all you need. Fortunately my car provided some immediate and effective safety from being struck by multiple bolts.

After a hot day, 33 degrees, the change was 100% that we'd have some huge thunderstorms yesterday almost covering the entire country, starting in the afternoon somewhere in the Southern provinces of the Netherlands.

Tech info: 30s at f/4, 24mm, ISO 100.

Location: In the middle of nowhere, somewhere in the province of Groningen, the Netherlands.

Thunderdome at Black Rock City

Thunderdome Photo #2 — the rest on my FB at ift.tt/1QyRtPD Every year I make my annual pilgramige to watch the bloody fights at the Thunderdome at the Death Guild. This year didn't disappoint (it never does!) — I wish I could portray all the MAYHEM, the music, the violence, the excitement. People are climbing all over the geodesic structure... I was inside shooting for a while. I kept having all kinds of fluids land on me — I don't know what it all was, frankly. Some of it might have been my friend Rene's blood when I accidentally hit him in the head with my tripod. We rocked into the Thunderdome already nice and bloody! :) via Trey Ratcliff on FB at ift.tt/1v05hWZ Snapchat: treyratcliff ift.tt/1qx3iMJ Instagram: treyratcliff ift.tt/1c7s6Uy

Thunderdome sponsored by Philippe?

I didn't spot the lettering at the time since I was concentrating on getting a shot without people walking through the frame. The neon word is of course WALTZER.

Death Guild is pranked again: this time, the perpetrators moved wooden letters (that originally spelled "HARVEYWOOD") over to Thunderdome to spell DOOM RAVE.

I say they should have spelled "EMO"

So as usual i stepped out the house about 5am and looked up in the sky and was like ehh man i shoulda slept i a bit more, kinda the exact scenario i had when i went down to Pigeon Point and shot the photo "Grace" .I was just draggin this morning been workin quite a bit and havent really shot much but the Bay Bridge since i can "fix" Lol on my way to work, anyways im out there on the embarcadero and as soon as i set up i look at the Live View on my 60D and this is what i saw, seriously if i saw this on most pages i would really say to myself ahh photoshoped, the color scheme is just way off than what would normaly be you know, but no this is the real deal, i sharpened it up abit in lightroom and watermarked it, I really need to get out more and shoot a variety, i know some of you like my bridge comps so id figure id share it.Its quite the same comp as Illuminati but alot darker, thanks for the support and feedback friends have a great evening or day depending on where you are right now

At the Canadian side one has the chance to walk beyond the Falls via a tunnel. One can see only white from the water and hear a deafening roll of thunder.

Here I liked the silhouettes of the people the reflection in the ceiling and the orange light including its reflections in the guys leather jacket.

Im glad my lens survived all the mist.

:-)

A shot of the thunderstorm of last night in Zoetermeer, the Netherlands. Together with a friend of my we went stormchasing and this was one of the first clear shots I've taken.

This place was amazing. As soon as I got home, my PC died. I've been anxiously awaiting the completion of the new PC so I could process these shots! More to come soon...

pretty much just like the real thing, but no Master Blaster

NITE Presents -

Sept 21st - can't miss this

Welcome to Thunderdome!!!

I half expected a couple of futuristic warriors to come repelling down on me when I was taking this, but in reality it is Inversion: Plus Minus (sometimes stylized as Inversion +/-)

They are a pair of two outdoor sculptures designed by artists and architects Annie Han and Daniel Mihalyo, located in southeast Portland, Oregon. The sculptures, constructed from weathered steel angle iron, are sited near the Morrison Bridge and Hawthorne Bridge along Southeast Grand Avenue and represent "ghosts" of former buildings. The installation on Belmont Street emphasizes "negative space" while the sculpture on Hawthorne Street appears as a more solid matrix of metal. According to the artists, the works are reminiscent of industrial buildings that existed on the project sites historically. Both installations are currently under construction and are scheduled to be completed by the end of 2012. Inversion was funded by the two percent for art ordinance as part of the expansion of the Eastside Portland Streetcar line and is managed by the Regional Arts & Culture Council.

Too many flicks to post will label them eventually
