Throwback Thursday

That's me on the left. I was just a pipsqueak back then, and my older sister Marlene on the right.

Purebred Collie we had in the Seventies. This was taken inside our NAPA parts store where she spent the day with me. She was a very nice dog, but we weren't a good fit. She was the runt of the litter and had spent two years in the kennel. She was skittish and easily frightened. We gave her to a farmer with kids and lots of room to run. I think it was the right thing to do.

#ThrowBackThursday to one of the more creepy sights exploring- 3 doors within an old decaying operating theatre of a former military hospital that appear to be bleeding! Now converted/demolished for housing.

Have a spooky Halloween all!

Once again a scan of a slide from my 1994 holiday in southern USA. This one was taken on a trip from El Paso to Phoenix.

#throwbackthursday got me thinking and I realized that it's kind of funny that my good camera prior to about 2016 was a film point and shoot. I got it out over my cheap digicams when I wanted higher quality photos that I didn't want to lose to the things that digital files are susceptible to. It's funny, that's a big part of why I still prefer film for family events despite having a great DSLR now.

It's tough hearing that most of Toronto's summer festivals have been cancelled. We know it's for the best in the end but still upsetting none-the-less....

It had some flaws, but overall i liked it! 7/10

I seem to be missing all gorgeous sunrises and sunsets lately, not that I'm not awake and ready to go, but because we've either been having gray days or I've been sitting at the office watching the sun come up with stunning colours illuminating the sky. It actually gets to be frustrating for me because I love to be outside watching the sky put on a colour show.

I'm hoping that as the days get longer, I'll be able to get outside for sunsets more often. So since I've been missing the beauty of a colourful sky I thought that it would be appropriate to revisit some of my old sunset photos and use one for my Throwback Thursday shot for April.

(Also, the fact that I took this shot exactly two years ago is completely by chance. I chose this photo earlier in the month to use for this series and didn't realize what day I'd be uploading. What a crazy random happenstance!)

Wishing you all a lovely day.

Been watching a lot of Batman: The Brave And The Bold and felt like making some silver age heroes.

Although I have posted this photo before it never ceases to tickle me. I look at these long gone faces and see determination, stubborness, sweetness and wonderment.

Throwback Thursday

My dad behind the wheel, my sister on the passenger side, my next older brother in the middle and me standing up in the rear.

I believe this is a '28 Chevy and I would guess, by my size, that the year taken was about 1948 or 1949.

I took this in Albuquerque, NM the year before we moved to Upstate, NY. I really enjoyed photographing these beautiful and very large birds that would wander into my yard quite often during the summer.

Here is a photo I took from the top of Notre Dame cathedral waaaay back in....2009. Back then, I was just starting to get serious about photography and was still using my trusty "superzoom" compact camera" I think Notre Dame offers a nice view of the city, which includes the Seine in the foreground and the Eiffel Tower in the back.

It's Thursday and it's time for another Throwback!

I remember that day like yesterday, (exactly three years ago) I were in London with my family for a little trip, and after visiting Buckingham Palace we went to St. James park where I luclky found a squirrel posing for me!

And that was the result (link).

With Craig sitting stop the Fremont Troll and spinning the wool, friends Marcus and Mike and I man our cameras and enjoy the show.

It has been awhile since I've posted! What can I say but I've been busy. I don't actually do photography day in, day out so it's hard for me to go out and shoot when I'd like to. With autumn right around the corner I thought I'd do a little throwback today to last autumn. I absolutely love autumn and I'm looking forward to it this year! Definitely planning to go out and shoot so keep an eye out!

throw back to when Mr. Mean was selected to be on cover of now defunct Popular Hot Rodding magazine..this Buick GS had a 540 big block and all sorts of 1/4 mile gear (note the nicely hidden roll cage), so no smack talking was done with this beast

Throwback Thursday

Thursday Monochrome

I remember this Christmas. I was 7. My sister Marlene and I were opening up our presents.

Kalani Robb - Backside hack - Velzyland - North Shore - Oahu - 2004.

35mm Kodachrome film.

Best size: Chest-high to a couple feet overhead.

Best Swell Direction: West-Northwest, Northwest, North.

Perfect-O-Meter: 9 out of 10.

Crowd Factor: Thick with a tight takeoff zone.

Local Vibe: The crew has it on lockdown; don't even try.

I found this image in some old photos and I remember when I took this photo, it was bitterly cold evening and my last photography class. The view of Winnipeg was beautiful.
