Today, Shimala and some Threadless community members (roll over the photo for links) visited Monterey after attending Winebocon in San Luis Obispo and left our mark on the beach at Fisherman's Wharf in Monterey. Just after this photo was taken we split out on the road and now find ourselves in San Francisco for a couple days. If you're in San Fran and want to meet up. Note carefully, when choosing your shirt size, whether you are buying the American Apparel brand Girly T or the Threadless brand Girly T. As you can see, they're vastly different in length.
The website has these two t-shirts being an inch apart in length, but by my measurements, the Threadless variety is 4" longer.
I like that the Threadless variety has more room in the arms and neck, but I hate that it extends to halfway down my butt. Yuck. I'm all for longer-torso girly tees, but my torso is about 3" up from here.
I'm tossing it in the wash and hoping it shrinks in length without cutting off circulation in my arms or neck.
These are both XL, fwiw. That's my size in "girly" terms. And yes, the outfit on the left is what I wore yesterday. With flip flops.
We're at it again. We fixed the first design that we had, because we REALLY think that it's got potential.

So I was able to take one embarrassingly terrible picture at work. Am much too lazy/tired/indifferent to mess around with it in Photoshop.
FACT: I hate the grimy way my hands feel when they are dirty. I really can't stand it. Because of this I wash my hands almost fifty times a day.

Walk into Threadless Chicago and you'll have 2 choices. Up or down. Downstairs is where the shopping takes place. Upstairs you'll find a mezzanine area overlooking the first floor with all kinds of different things going on. Primarily, it's a gallery. The gallery will showcase all kinds of different artists but will consist mainly of work by winning Threadless designers.
There are 6 portable desks, each with 2 chairs and a computer that can be moved in and out of the space depending on the type of event. In addition to having gallery showings and openings, we'll be hosting various events like group critiques or flying a winning designer in to show how they created their design. Or maybe free milk & cookies on new tee shirt day every week :)
And I saved the best for last! We've teamed up with Digital Bootcamp to provide courses on all sorts of different creative subjects and programs right in the store. Anywhere from courses on ideas like web design or photography to specific programs like Photoshop or Illustrator.
There will be no shortage of things to learn, see and do upstairs in the Threadless store... we'll have a calendar of events put together by the grand opening on September 14th so stay tuned!
