I love thread! The colors are eye candy. The spools and bobbins look beautiful neat or messy. I love looking at the displays of color in stores where there are loads of spools. What a goof, eh?...but I know I'm not alone....
Pipe threading machine about to re-cut a 1" BSP thread, which it did in a few seconds.
The pipe is gripped into a vice that slides forwards as the the thread is cut and the pipe is drawn into the machine.
The golden honey-like substance is cutting oil.
these threads were passed on from one hand to another...... time marches on...... these threads will be stitched someday

The only feature differentiating the M3A1 from the M3 is the threaded end of the muzzle, intended for a muzzle brake that was never actually issued or used.
Silk thread roti - the threads made of caramelised sugar and then eaten in a roti - is a desert created in Ayutthaya. A mix of Indian subcontinent and Thai cuisines, the dish here was made by a Muslm family living in Ayutthaya and I was told that it is typically sold in the street by Muslim vendors.
The colours can vary - the green sugarsilk is coloured by use of the pandan/pandanus leaf.
This embroidery thread came in a bag of vintage zippers from the thrift store. anyone interested in swapping some fabric for these? I don't embroider so I won't use these. There are 57 different pieces (not necessarily different colors) and some blank cards.

Urban Thread's dragonfly, on new towels! Since the design is lacy (ish), I decided to add a chintz background applique-style, so that the fuzzy towel didn't poke up through the dragonfly and obscure its design. I also have the smaller dragonfly size and will probably put that on a couple of hand towels. I'm loving my new dragonfly-themed bathroom!

Today I presented my methods for thread drawing - using four different techniques for this simple piece - to the Harbor Art Guild in Hoquiam, WA.
I used four different techniques to create this image - standard lock-stitching on a home machine, darning on a home machine, fabric applique with fusible web, and hand-embroidery.
Royale Classic Crochet Thread size 10, and a size 7 steel hook.
Royale thread colors:
Orchid Pink, French Rose, and Burgundy
The background color in this photo made the Orchid Pink thread look white.
