with our gift certificates from the wedding, we bought some sheets... here Lloyd is comparing the thread counts and believe it or not he was suggesting to buy the higher thread count.

304/365: We bought a fancy new bed and a Wii today. And 600-threadcount sheets on sale. Indian food with my parents tonight. All I want to do is lie in a pool and sleep.

here's a weird personality quirk: paying any amount of money for a bland hotel-ly hotel room makes me cranky, as does paying for cabs to and from the airport, and paid parking. i don't enjoy them, i think, is the point, and resent spending my money on things i don't enjoy. i have found that i do enjoy being in pretty places, and feel quite satisfied with my spent dollars if i revel in the experience of being somewhere.
when i lived in manhattan, i would pass the (gated) gramercy park almost every day, and press my nose to the fence looking longingly and the tidy little paths and benches, and people with keys walking their cute little dogs. this hotel is on that park, and when you stay, you get a key, as well as 400 threadcount sheets and some amazing decor.
i can't wait! :-)
Just playing around with the macro and manual focus setting during a particularly boring lecture on tourism....
