Macro Mondays: Needle and Thread

Candid street photography from Glasgow, Scotland. Enjoy!

Smile On Saturday 1.9.2018 "Thread"

Red the thread soaked in passion

Red like the poppy in the first sun

Lovely entanglements follow

The endless path

While the flowers do not flower

They move at the first breath of morning

Joy and intense emotions

They trace ancient stories

How ancient is

Love

Was it caught in a spider thread? I don't know! It was hanging from this tiny thread thing from a tree outside the restaurant / lodge in Shenandoah National Park. There were a lot of them on the ground getting stepped on! I rarely see a caterpillar and now this! LOL Hard to get a decent shot of it as it was wiggling and blowing in the slight breeze. I think probably it stretched that thread all the way to the ground, or being at eye level someone walked smack into it like I almost did!

From my maternal grandmother's sewing box.

3cm/1.18 inches across the frame. The Laowa 60mm lens magnifies by two, so that this appears larger than it measures. Measurement in first comment.

Past, Present, and What Still to Come.

Beneath the tree, they softly hum,

And to the thread, all worlds succumb.

Alternative symmetry shot.

This 4mm square frame or 5/32 inch square frame captures the perfect together ....needle and thread.

This was one of those very cold and dry winter mornings. The spiders had been busy and the fine threads of their web was coated in frost.

Coronavirus isolation Oct '20.

Make compassion the cotton, contentment the thread,

modesty the knot and thruth the twist.

This is the sacred thread of the soul;

if you have it, then go ahead and put it on me.

A little crafty scene where scale has gone out of the window - the thread and reel are as they should be . The needles are much bigger than normal ( I think they are something to do with knitting rather than sewing a button on ) , and of course the little sewing machine is indeed little being less than 2 inches wide and set with diamonds - well they look like diamonds but are certainly not for the price than this little brooch cost !!

Macro Monday theme of the week is “Needle and Thread”

Tiny White Wild Flower's, hanging from a Spider Web.

Thread the needle, something that seems to get more difficult with each passing year. It was miserable outside so I decided to shoot a little macro inside.

USN Blue Angels are back in SF for Fleet Week.

Just a small collection of my wife's embroidery threads.

The threads that connect us to the world are our survival strategy. They are created and destroyed by us and by others. Fragile like the threads that the spider weaves, they are the measure of vulnerability, persistence, the entanglement of life. And in the poetic reflection on the self, the will, and the world, we will find this fragility in another perfect poem by Carlos Queiroz (1907-1949) Aranha, a masterpiece of Portuguese poetry.

Red Threads is a macro photograph of a rose. It is a floral portrait of the Biblical heroine Rahab. This photo is a part of the 'Botanical Beauty' exhibition in Jerusalem.
