All from Saucylouise. She's in Japan, I think (APO address) so stuff takes a couple of weeks to arrive. It's not a problem at all, but just putting it out there for swap people.

The thread is Olympus Emmy Grande and it is freaking gorgeous. I would like a ton.

The book on the left is Small and Easy Crochet Patterns by Kazuko Ryokai (ISBN9784413009683). It's adorable, but there's not a heck of a lot to it.

The other one, though- whoah. Crochet Patterns Book Motifs Edgings 300 (ISBN9784529042338) is amazing. The motifs are gorgeous. It's just chart after chart after chart after chart. The motifs are also shown connected together with charts given for the connections. I love this book and will get more like this one.

An early morning walk in our nearby woods.

[Threads of delicate merino wool and silk wrapped steel in vintage gold, entwined to form patterns of texture, light and transparency.

Threads interconnecting as unstructured stitches come together to create a soft metallic wrap.

Threads pulled through loops in a hazy, simplistic ritual that has soothed and calmed the mind, body and soul.

Playing with that homeless SLR lens I found again. Makes decent macros when I turn it backwards and hold it in front of my camera.

It's a real hollowed egg shell underneath the woven embroidery thread.

The red and white ones caught on in the 1930s through the 1950s because a colorfast red thread was created, which didn't bleed in the wash. Funny, I had clothes that bled in the 60s and 70s.

PS: I appreciate invites to add a photo to your group, but I will not add my photos to a "private group" that I am not a member of. If you'd like me to add my photos, send me an invitation to join your group first (it's a little weird to not be able to see a group that my photos are invited to but I am not!). Thanks!

Every colour of the rainbow and then some at Len's Mills in Guelph.

What is your feeling ?

Possibly the highlight of the journey for passengers on the WHR is threading the Aberglaslyn Pass, although the view of the river is being encroached by growing trees.

The view of the train for the photographer is also suffering a similar fate as No. 138 heads for Porthmadog.

Same thread- 42 jpgs @f11 stacked in Serene Stacker

Just a bunch of Crochet threads, I liked the colours and texture made from the bindings. Just used a load of cardboard sheets to shape the light on the backdrop and product.

I had a bit of a macroey day inspired by Macro Mondays' multicolour theme.

A Stouffville bound GO train threads through the vast city jungle of Toronto.

These rather large threaded fasteners are stacked on a wooden pallet ready for use to assemble heat exchangers. Note the relative size of the can of soda pop in the upper left. The can has an approximate diameter of 2-5/8”. Also note the relative size of the length of these studs compared to the wooden pallet on which they sit!

Made of high strength alloy, the spec on these are generally listed as SA193 Grade B7 with SA194 Grade 2H nuts.

He, who every morning plans the transactions of the day, and follows that plan, carries a thread that will guide him through a labyrinth of the most busy life.

Thread winders

Box 95

Bridgeport 1, Conn.

I like these little thread winders designed to look like wooden spools. Set of 20 or so found in sewing box purchase at thrift store.

and here's a pic 7 months on.. it's just as clear!

This is my first tattoo. Some people were a little worried at me choosing such a visable placement, but I knew i wanted to see it easily and for it to be a part of my daily life.

Flint the tattooist and I worked on the design together... I knew what I did and didn't want... and I needed a spiral in there of course! The thread color is a mix of my favorite shades by Guttermann and DMC, representing my love of machine sewing and hand embroidery.

I wanted the thread to be able to link to other work later if I choose, but to stand alone if I don't. Flint just plucked my vision out of my head! And I am so very pleased with it.

It is my permanent post it note that tells me 'if in doubt, sew'.

The assignment was to create a cover and spread for a magazine inspired from two distinct fashion designers. My inspiration was Valentino and Christian Lacroix.

I was trying to show my son how to use the macro lens, taking shots of ordinary objects. This one came out pretty cool, I thought.

i need a better way than an old playdough tub to store these.
