Les compositions ainsi que les adaptations originales issues de folklores divers contribuent à l’éclectisme et la subtilité de leur univers musical. L’efficacité et l’énergie déployée par la section rythmique laisse libre cours aux improvisations complices des deux solistes.

Celebrating the 75th Anniversary of Thomas & Friends, I have decided to repair my MOC from 2018 with some minor updates on the structure and details, and give it a shot at LEGO Ideas. You can now vote for it to become an official product!
I set off to create the ultimate version of Thomas in LEGO, and I had a lot of fun creating his iconic face and capturing all the little details across the model without resorting to stickers/printing. Apart from the almost unnoticeable improvements on the train, I have added a nice railway display for it to make it look nicer as a proposed set, along with an exclusive nameplate and minifigure of The Fat Controller (aka Sir Topham Hatt), created through the dark arts of Photoshop. In the decade following the Civil War, rowing became one of America’s most popular spectator sports. When its champions, the Biglin brothers of New York, visited Philadelphia in the early 1870s, Thomas Eakins made numerous paintings and drawings of them and other racers. Here, the bank of the Schuylkill River divides the composition in two. The boatmen and the entering prow of a competing craft fill the lower half with their immediate, large-scale presence. The upper and distant half contains a four-man rowing crew, crowds on the shore, and spectators following in flag-decked steamboats.
Himself an amateur oarsman and a friend of the Biglins, Eakins portrays John with his blade still feathered, almost at the end of his return motion. Barney, a split-second ahead in his stroke, watches for his younger brother’s oar to bite the water. Both ends of the Biglins’ pair-oared boat project beyond the picture’s edges, generating a sense of urgency, as does the other prow jutting suddenly into view.
The precision of Eakins’ style reflects his upbringing as the son of a teacher of penmanship. He studied under academic artists in Paris and traveled in Europe from 1866 to 1870. To further his understanding of anatomy, Eakins participated in dissections at Philadelphia's Jefferson Medical College in 1872-1874.

ESA astronaut Thomas Pesquet landed on the steppe of Kazakhstan on 2 June 2017 with Russian commander Oleg Novitsky in their Soyuz MS-03 spacecraft after six months in space. Touchdown was at 14:10 GMT after a four-hour flight from the International Space Station.
Thomas spent six months on the International Space Station as part of his Proxima mission. During Proxima, Thomas took part in 60 scientific experiments for ESA and France’s space agency CNES and the international Station partners.
The mission is part of ESA’s vision to use Earth-orbiting spacecraft as a place to live and work for the benefit of European society while using the experience to prepare for future voyages of exploration further into the Solar System.
