Subject: Ceramic bowl and pitcher
I like this picture because the bowl and table have a lot of detail and compliment each other but still contrasts enough that it looks good, especially with the shadows.
I chose this picture because the majority of the subject is in the top left corner of the shot, following the rule of thirds.
If I were to reshoot this I would try having a different background because the grain in the table can be a little distracting. I might also try putting something in the bowl or pitcher just to add more color and interest to focus on.

This month Third Thursday teamed up with Los Compadres, a philanthropic support group at Children's Hospital Los Angeles to celebrate National Hispanic Heritage Month. Volunteers spent an afternoon with patients making arts and crafts, playing music and delivering coffee and snacks to families as part of the Third Thursday program. The coffee and food are generously provided by Don Francisco's Coffee and KIND Healthy Snacks. This month we had a special treat from Guava Delights in support of Los Compadres at CHLA. The Third Thursday program at Children's Hospital Los Angeles invites professionals working in the entertainment, music, sports and other allied industries to experience CHLA and support the hospital mission through service activities with patients and families.
The discovery of the body of Richard the Third under a car park at Leicester was the greatest archaeological story of the century. When I was a student at Leicester University in the seventies the story of his defeat at the Battle of Bosworth was well known but everyone said his body had been thrown in the river but the work of a dedicated band of archaeologists from the University overturned the conventional wisdom. Controversy followed with a claim that Richard would have wished to be buried at York before Leicester's historical right to be the last resting place of the king was finally recognised. After his death in battle Richard's body was stripped, carried through the streets of Leicester, and displayed in the City. Now it is on display again, at least in the form of a replica of his skeleton as it was found in his long forgotten grave. Leicester's homage to Richard now is much more respectful than it was then and the visitor centre is well worth a visit but I can't help feeling the display of the skeleton, even in the form of a replica, is a further humiliation for a king who has already suffered enough.
