This warning sign needs to be updated. No ice left in the pond at the Slätmossen Nature Park in Handen today.
One day after New Moon a thin crescent only 1% lit sets over the Western horizon around 45 mins after Sunset. Taken on the outskirts of Torquay 23rd March 2012.
Unlike the rest of my family, I've always loved this sculpture. My Grandfather bought it in the 1960s from an exhibition at The Bluecoat. When he died (many years ago) he had a reasonable collection of art that he had accumulated during his lifetime. None of the other members of my family wanted this - so I got it.
The label underneath tells me the artist was "E Rose, Hoylake". A little digging around on google and I discover that Edna Rose was a well known wildlife sculptor - most famous for her bust of Jet of Iada - www.liverpoolmuseums.org.uk/online/exhibitions/dogs/jet.asp. I must do some more research.

Today was another warm Fall day with lots of thin clouds, maybe rain is in the future for us?!
The thinning of the forest under Lingmell is creating a more open and gappy structure which should promote regeneration and a more diverse mixed species forest.
