A Thin Place was regarded as a marginal realm, beyond everyday human experience and perception, where mortals could pass into the Otherworld more easily or make contact with those in the Otherworld more willingly.
‘Thin Place’ curated by Ciara Healy, presents the work of five artists living on the west coast of Wales & Ireland. The exhibition aims to show how art, literature, science and theology are interconnected, especially when addressing questions concerning the meaning of our existence.

I have been waiting in anticipation of the Spring activity of this weeping willow tree, visiting it regularly to observe new growth as the days go by. I began photographing it last year but got an earlier start on it this year. It is such a pleasure being close to it, watching the movements and interaction of light in its complex structure. One of the things that I love about weeping willows is that they are among the first to give us color in the springtime and among the last to retain color in late autumn. They are always a refreshing sight in any season, offering a lovely wash of color and flowing grace.

One of my favorite coworkers regularly brings Donna and I a banana in the morning. By the end of today I still hadn't touched mine and it seemed to be feeling rejected. I was sorry.

This is the facade from the bar next to my flat. I like the texture and the thin bricks overlapping.
This townhome in Old Town Alexandria was once in the Guinness Book of Records as the thinnest house in America (or maybe the world?). It's about seven feet across.
Unmanaged timber stand also impacted by invasive mistletoe. Thinning projects in the area are part of the Rocky Point-White Swan Forest Resilience Targeted Implemntation Plan (TIP) under Montana Focused Conservation (MFC) and complement other projects completed by CSKT. This TIP is in partnership with Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes, Lake County Conservation District, and the Montana Departmnet of Natural Resources and Conservation. The purpose of the TIP is to improve forest resilience to weather and pest issues, decrease the likelihood of catastrophic wildfire in the Wildland Urban Interface, and improve forest health. This work may also decrease risk to homes in the area from wildfire. Lake County, MT. June 2021.
