White Faced Monkey at the Manuel Antonio National Park beach, white faced monkey escaping after being caught going through somebody's beach bag.

As I was getting ready to take another shot, Sparky's face appeared in my camera screen!

Thanks to model ʝhø ɢʀᴇʏᴍᴏᴏɴ aka jhonatan98, for his invaluable collaboration and great styling.

In this case, John has turned us into an elegant white-collar thief who plunders the complicated safes of the SL banks.

I know it's not a good photo but it amused me! The squirrel almost looked like a bird feeder itself.

I've been working away at this image for weeks, and I think I'm more or less happy with it, if only because I can't work on it anymore. I'm planning on getting a new camera soon, and I'm excited to try this again with some new gear.

I think I'll be putting a before and after up on my Facebook page soon, if you're curious how I made this.

You don't have time to bring an alien thief into the house who immediately gets to work.

A tree rat with a furry tail and a good publicist, but he's still a peanut thief.

Sciurus carolinensis

Eastern grey squirrels Sciurus carolinensis commonly occur in two colour phases, grey and black, which leads people to think—mistakenly—that there are two different species. Black is often the dominant colour in Ontario and Quebec, toward the northern limits of the species’ range. Farther south the black phase is less common and is not found at all in the southern United States. This may indicate that the gene responsible for black coloration has some cold-weather adaptation associated with it.

A seagull helping himself with my breakfast during our holidays in Capri. many of you have asked whether this shot is real or staged. It is real, unfortunately for my breakfast! Here is the full series of shots i took of the scene to prove it ;-)

A crew works job J88 in at its origin in Thief River Falls. The crew is spotting a MoW flat car with equipment on the mainline and will soon run up to the yard for some routine switch work shuffling grain hoppers. Eventually, the train will grab grain hoppers and the MoW car and depart, but that wont be for at least another hour. Snow falls as winter returns for a few more days. View courtesy of the Soo Line Depot platform. This is one of my favorite TRF angles.

The great frigatebird often obtains a meal by harassing other seabirds in flight until they drop or disgorge their catch. This magnificent aerialist then catches the falling meal. I’ve also seen them dip fish from the surface of the water, however, their feathers are minimally waterproof unlike other seabird so they don’t dive or land on the water surface. Additionally, their vestigial legs are insufficient for a running takeoff from water. It is estimated frigatebirds spend up to 90% of their life in the air, even sleeping aloft. Their seven foot, high aspect ratio wing span allows them to easily circle in thermal or orographic updrafts, gaining altitude without flapping. The Hawaiian name, ‘iwa; means thief. This female frigatebird was patrolling the Kaiwi coast.

The equine that stole my heart.

Never leave any desired underwear on top of your hamster's cages. I caught Dandy stealing my pants. My SECOND pair (you can see the first pair he got in his bed).

Sigh - hormonal males. What are you going to do with them!

An opportunistic gull makes off with a pack of cheese curds in it's natural habitat: the grocery store parking lot :)

Un goeland opportuniste s'enfuit avec un paquet de fromage en grains, dans son habitat naturel : le stationnement d'épicerie ! :)

Apparently there's no such thing as a seagull but it's definitely a thief as it stole this crayfish from a coot. (Chroicocephalus ridibundus)

A brief offshoot from our hike to Pancake Rocks took us to Horse Thief Falls, Northwest of Colorado Springs, CO. Dug out my ND filter bringing the exposure down 2 stops to get a little softness on the water. No tripod so I flat-bellied it on a rock.

Eccolo pescato in flagrante il ladro dei croccantini del gatto, però è troppo simpatico se mangia uno c'è posto anche per altri, benvenuto merlo.

Diamond Thief: "I returned the diamond, like I promised."

Officer Joe: "Great! Do you wanna get a cup of coffee?"

Diamond Thief: "Sure. Let me get my stuff. I'll meet you there."

There's one photo left in this impromptu series :-) Did she really return the diamond? We'll have to see.....

Thank you very much for your comments and faves, regretfully, I am finding it increasingly difficult to reply to your comments, because of my very limited time on the internet, due to constant power interruptions in South Africa. I do read and appreciate every one of them, however! Thanks again!!

During the summer, I grow tomatoes in containers on our back deck. The other day, I looked out and saw this little one stuffing its face. The tomato had dropped off the vine, so the chipmunk is really helping to keep the deck clean(ish)

Happy Whimsical Wednesday!

The Nuthatch is such a sneaky bird...every time he came to the feeder, he would go somehow behind the log and you would only see its beak taking a seed and then immediately leaving.

Likes to steal birdseed and dig lots of holes.

Gull trying to steal terns lunch. Don't know what happened to the fish eventually in all that splashing. After this other terns came and they evicted the gulls from the site.
