Dedicated to Josef K., the main character of The Process, the novel by Franz Kafka. Josef K., awakens one morning and, for reasons never revealed, is arrested and prosecuted for an unspecified crime.

These last days I remembered him as so many strange things happened in the financial markets and so many normal workers lost their savings and employments for reasons still not revealed.

after my hour and a half workout!

Slowly, but surely... I struggled through my run today. Provided, it was after a good amount of squats.. but I still struggled. Because I think all too often, we give up because we think things should be better than they are. And the struggle is too overwhelming. A vision is absolutely necessary, but it's just a dream if you don't take some sort of action to make it happen right away. The most important thing I think one can do is fall in love with the process, because that's where you're spending most of your time. Winning and success lasts for 30 seconds, but it's who you become during that process that you live with day in and day out. Trust the process. And take a minute to admire where you are. .. #DayFifteen #MotivationalMay #TheProcess .. #run #running #triathlete #grind #crossfit #crossfitgames #fit #fitness #marathon #tgim #progress #nevergiveup #neverbackdown #neverquit #relentless #limitless #comeback #swim #bike #lovethepain #Ironman #ironmantri #motivation #inspiration #inspire #tattoo

The ~bones of a poet~ e-course began this morning, bright and early true to Madelyn form. I adore mornings but this one was extra special.

I took this photo before attending the class, it shall be a marker for how far I've come by the end of the six weeks. I won't submit this one to the group.

I know nothing of how this course will unfold, so any ~bones images I post until further notice will go unprocessed, for art's sake.

xo

{My contributions to the group will be in my personal set marked ~bones of a poet~}

i make a huge mess when i make cards & such. it helps to be surrounded with paper, words, inks, stamps, all sorts of embellishments. and it helps to have the wonderful inspiration of the natural light all around me!

of course, no company coming right now ... i would have to put my major mess away and shut down the production process :)

for those of you highly organized ... this must be painful to see ... ;-)

~my apologies!!

This was my very first tattoo. I was 19, drunk and uh.....some other things. I didnt want a heart or rose like every other chick. Tribal tattoos werent around yet, so this is what I wa left with. I wanted to be different - what an idiot I was. I have ben in theprocess of getting this removed for the past 5 years. The removal is more painful that getting it in the first place.

In order to get the color order of the feathers correct, I called my mom and asked her to look at my jersey in my closet and told her it was a bet we were having. Ha! I was so scared to tell her. A few days after, I asked my mom what she thought of people with tattoos. She gave me every ridiculous stereotype in the book. Then I showed it to her and quickly proved her wrong. Ha again!

I decided to get rid of it because I realized that this tattoo in its position on my back doesnt exactly look very classy in an evening gown or cocktail dress. Little did I know at 19 how many events I would be going to where I needed to look nice. And little did I know at 19 that I aspired to be classy - ok at least some of the time.

Every once in a while I get to shoot Rory Scovel (click his name in the tags at right to see the rest of 'em), an extremely talented comedian, and one of my favorite subjects. We improvise and come up with set-ups and shoot whatever the hell we feel like. It's great fun... and I look forward to shooting him again later this summer after he gets back to the city from touring out west.

More to come...
