Rooftops at one time was an arena used for boat shows, marine life entertainment and other things of the sort. For whatever reason, there are over 1,000 chairs in the adueince seating area, and almost as many hidden rooms, compartments and passageways concealed beneath the general admission seating. To this day I believe that I made the right decision to explore this particular spot during the mid afternoon. Not only were some of these abandoned rooms extremely creepy, but full of sleeping homeless people and even a couple of junkies (all of whom asked me for a cigarette, which I kindly obliged.) Although the walls of this venue are covered in vibrantly colored graffiti art, something about the way the doorway beckons the viewer when this photo is desaturated makes it mysterious, seductive and even beautiful.

Sky Fire 2010 in Canberra. Apparently there were around 160,000 people who made the trip in to the show. It was definitely worth the effort.
Some of the explosions were enormous. A long exposure caught all the action.
