I know you must have all seen thousands of pictures of the famous London Eye, but I couldn’t visit my favourite city and not at least post one image of the Millennium Wheel. I hope you’ll enjoy my admittedly very artistic approach. :-)
The small red tug boat has shown a few pirouettes(spins) infront of the bridge and now it drives backwards (direction left) under the bridge and the traffic above has to wait :-)
Greenwich foot tunnel

From the archives: Battersea Powerstation back when the first of the new developments around it were set up.

Battersea Power Station and Grosvenor Bridge at night, before they were encircled with new "luxury" appartments.
After shooting Big Ben i headed to Westminster bridge to get the tube towards Blackfriars bridge because i wanted to do some nightshots there. On my way i stopped because i saw that beautiful combination of blue on the building and the reds from the sunset. The reds also reflected in the upper windows of the building. So i stopped on the middle of the bridge and took that shot. The angle for the eye might have been better from the north end of the bridge, but i immediately realized that then i would not have the reds from the sunset in the left lower corner.
Last weekend, finally out of lockdown, I ventured out to visit friends living near Chelsea Harbour. Before the pandemic, I was often out late in this area with my tripod - here is one of those shots.
London, Thames River. The Millenium bridge and the shard in afternoon light photographed with a Lee Big Stopper and Lee 0,6 softgrad Filter. At the end of the bridge on the other side is the Tate modern and at the left of the bridges pylon the small white building is Shakespeares Globes Theatre.
I had planned this bw shot in advance for the day of my arrival in London, but i needed fluffy clouds and wind. In case there was none of them i had a plan b of course. But i did not need it. When i arrived at the Blackfriar Hotel i had both. I had chosen this Hotel because it is very close this and several other nice spots at the River Thames. So it was a short stroll from my hotel to this location.

Blackfriars Bridge is a road and foot traffic bridge over the River Thames in London, between Waterloo Bridge and Blackfriars Railway Bridge, carrying the A201 road. The north end is near the Inns of Court and Temple Church, along with Blackfriars station. The south end is near the Tate Modern art gallery and the Oxo Tower.
