This shoot was done for a 21st birthday. They came up with the idea and the location. The idea was "The Coming of Manhood" so we stepped back in time, and these were the results.

The Cornucopia of the park.
.
A very special catering facility to see is "Le Restaurant du Lac".
We think it should be named "Cornucopia" following the naming style of the park, it's indeed near to the lake but the gigantic pieces of fruit and vegetables are the most important feature and can be seen from afar. Unique in design and also very realistic up close.
The restaurant is surrounded with many tables on a large outdoor terrace permanently covered with colorful umbrellas, which gives it a summery appearance.

Cornucopia - in classical antiquity, the cornucopia, from Latin cornu and copia, also called the horn of plenty, was a symbol of abundance and nourishment, commonly a large horn-shaped container overflowing with food, flowers, or nuts.

Each "theme" scene has been on display for the appropriate period in an office open to the public (out of reach of course).
From time to time the scenes are slightly changed, mostly for not stretching the delicate skin in one position for too long.

Theme this week was books.
Yes, I'm FINALLY getting caught up on this project. Now that I'm home from Europe and have somewhere to shoot that random people won't walk in on and I'm not moving all the time, I can finally get going.
Not sure how I actually feel about this photo, but I spent enough time trying to keep those books balanced on my head that I said screw it and, well, here we are. I really just want to get caught up and I know this isn't the most creative photo but hey, I'll do better in the coming weeks!
This month's themed event for our Saturday Fun Day was Easter. Everyone was so creative and colorful. The competition was close and the judges really had their work cut out!!!

BIRDHOUSE - "Make A Little Birdhouse In Your Soul"
Quote by Linnell Flansburgh
My father loves birds. He always did and throughout his life, he made sure they were fed and protected during our cold winter months. So, he built birdhouses. I guess a better way to describe what he did would be to say that he created bird homes; he lovingly crafted these in all sizes and styles, two-storied, condos, some for those birds living on the "other side of the tracks" and others, great mansions. I have a few of these around our home, and still, the birds flock to them each spring to raise their families. The birdhouses are old and dear to me; I can picture my father bent over as he sawed and and hammered, assembled then painted these sturdy dwellings for our feathered friends.
One year, the huge birdhouse that my Dad had constructed was hanging from the maple in the backyard and was filled with no, not birds but a squirrel family! Upon closer inspection, I realized that the baby squirrel had suddenly grown too big and could no longer get out of the tiny hole. The mother, who was outside, was in a frenzy and the too-plump baby inside was panicking. It was terrible to see and hear. I was alone at home and realized that the baby would die in there. What to do? Call my dear Papa. He arrived within minutes and checked out the situation. With the squirrels in panic mode, we worried that we would be bitten if we approached and tried to take down the house or worse, tried to help the baby out. My father's only recourse was to break apart the house with a large stick from far down below. Eventually, the back of the house fell off and the baby tumbled out and surprise, there was another one in there! All three squirrels scurried off. I was left without a birdhouse. But just for a short while....
I have sweet memories of Dave and very young Lorelei building a small birdhouse in the backyard. They nailed it to the tree and there it stayed, painted blue and red, for many years, home to several little feathered families.

Recalls the songs, the charms,
The pure threshold
Of my old home."

20th August 2021 at Coal Drops Yard, London N1.
Cubitt Sessions (annual series of free events).
Country: South Africa. Style: Western Classical Music - Opera (and some Popular Music).
Lineup: Catriona Hewitson (v [soprano]), Idunnu Münch (v [mezzo soprano]), Zwakele Tshabalala (v [tenor]), Alex Otterburn (v [baritone]),Chris Hopkins (p/director).
This concert was planned to feature four young singers associated with English National Opera. However, Sophie Bevan dropped out and was replaced by Catriona Hewitson of Scottish Opera. It was programmed by Chris Hopkins who is a conductor and pianist with ENO (and also works with the Orchestra of the City and the English Sinfonia), loosely around the theme "Once the Storm is Over". The songs took us from the calm before a storm to rebirth after it. Composers included Puccini, Verdi, Mozart, Handel and Wagner on the one hand and Gershwin, Arlen and Bernstein on the other.
