Obviously inspired by this shot from The Force Awakens.

Skellig Rocks, County Kerry, Ireland

Skellig Michael has risen to dramatic prominence due to its starring role as Luke Skywalker’s Island Sanctuary on the planet Ahch-To in both Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens and Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi.

Traitor Claimer, FN-2199, TR-8R, whatever... In my mind, his name will always be Competent Trooper!

This scene was pure eye candy. It would've been nice if the Stormtrooper had more lines to exchange with Finn as they fought, but at least the end of the fight was very satisfactory!

If you're interested to see the before-after effects, you can see it here and my super cheap photo studio set up here.

And can anyone spot the special character cameo in this photo?

St Patrick's Parade - Denver, Colorado

A trip to a magical woodland featured in one of the Star Wars movies and one which influenced Tolkien - just so atmospheric and a landscape from another world!!

An experiment, I had this idea of trying to get this scene but all in camera. Possibly might re-do it.

Here's another iconic shot that I was pleased to have made into the final cut of the film. I don't have much else to say about it. I just like it.

If you're interested, I posted a photo of how I took this shot here.

And if you're also interested, here is a before/after editing comparison shot.

- The Force Awakens -

I went and got my physical ticket for Star Wars The Force Awakens on Sunday and I can't wait to go and see it tomorrow night at 7:15!

No spoilers please. Please don't be "THAT guy"...Anyone who posts spoilers will be permanently blocked.

a better version of the TR-8R custom staff ;)

- The Force Awakens -

Every Star Wars movie has to end with a duel, and The Force Awakens delivered! The absence of Prequel fight choreography added humanity and relatability to the conflict between the heroes and villains. And there was a clear reason why they were fighting (unlike Phantom Menace). I loved every second of it!

Also, I caved and bought Rey's Speeder today. It was sort of on sale and I used all the points on my store card, so it was cheap. No regrets!

This is my last shot of the year.

I wish you all a Happy New Year!

Marty can't stop playing with her cute remote control BB-8.

Most adorable droid ever! <3

Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas day. ^_^

Thank you again Jen! For our adorable Star Wars dress. xoxo

I'll admit, I'm hooked on the Pokemon Go. Say what you want about the game, it's something my family has been having fun playing together, it gets us outside and going, and I see so many people around town enjoying small parks & memorials that up until now were largely ignored. Those are some pretty big wins in my book.

Sadly, I've been neglecting my LEGO friends as I try to "catch em' all" but I'll get back to posting more shots soon.

Thanks for looking & have a great day!

Like most Star Wars fans, I'm excited to see The Force Awakens in a few days. In celebration, I thought I'd try my hand at a Lego version of the villain/antagonist of the film, Kylo Ren.

I put off uploading this shot for a long time because I never felt satisfied with it. My friend Mark and Taka said it looked alright so I guess that was good enough.

It was refreshing to see competent and lethal Stormtroopers in a Star Wars movie, wasn't it? A lot of people uploaded their version of FN-2199 whipping out his electified tonfa to the internet because it was such a cool moment. In my opinion, however, what was more badass than just spinning a baton around was when he abandoned his shield and perfectly functional gun, throwing them to either side. A normal Stormtrooper doesn't just choose to make a killing personal by electing hand-to-hand combat. I haven't seen anyone make this moment before so I was hoping to be the first.

The Head of Transportation Design for NASA's 2047 Pathfinder 4 mission was a huge fan of early 21st Century Space Opera movies...

The Skellig Islands are 2 uninhabited, rocky islets off the southwestern coast of Ireland. Skellig Michael is known for its well-preserved early Christian monastery. The site, reached by steep steps, includes stone beehive-shaped huts, oratories and crosses. Thousands of puffins breed on Skellig Michael during the warmer months. To the northeast, the island of Little Skellig is home to a large colony of gannets.

The islands have now been plucked from relative obscurity to appear in the latest Star Wars films - The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi.

Even if you didn't pick up on the symbolic imagery in the new Star Wars movie, your brain noticed it.

As Finn walks across the sterile desert landscape of Jakku, he strips away his armor one piece at a time, revealing his true good natured inner self. He is finalizing his decision to abandon his former affiliation with villainy.

And on a pragmatic level, that desert was hot. Wearing Stormtrooper armor must have been uncomfortable.

If you're interested, I posted a photo of how I took this shot here.

I wanted to shoot something to show respect to Carrier Fisher who unfortunately passed away today. I had to improvise on the minifigure, but hopefully it does her justice.

Rest in peace. You were a princess, a leader and an inspiration both on screen and off.

Has anyone else got those Star Wars stickers for the Messenger app? They're great! I use them all the time! Admittedly though, I do annoy my friends because I tend to only use the Rey's Speeder sticker for every situation.

Love the updated design on these guys.

Well after seeing the you-know-what 2nd teaser.... I had had to join in and do a shot.

It's a really quick & rough edit, but what the hell :)

Part of this forest was used as a film location for Star Wars 'the force awakens' doubling for the planet Takodana.

My Star Wars Black Series Rey from Star Wars: The Force Awakens, which I repainted for more realism.
