These rolled ink textures were born from a desire to have a set of ink textures at hand. The textures have been created with black ink and rolls (one foam roll, and one rubber roll).

The type of effects obtained ranges from subtle noise to heavy smudges, and can have a variety of applications: noise pattern, background color, ink wash, rough borders, and more.

The textures have been scanned in very high resolution (5000 x 7800 pixels on average) @ 800 dpi or more.

Destruction is an act of creation (that's a paraphrase from Pablo Picasso). In our context, it means that when that house got destroyed in my Cleveland neighborhood, I got access to a lot of cool things to use as the basis of new texture packs.

After the rusted blue metal textures, the brick textures, the extreme scratched metal textures, and the painted wood textures, I'm happy to bring you the weathered grime textures!

The set is made of thirty-seven (37) base textures. They feature some cool grime/mud/miscellaneous scum patterns, in all their smeared, dusty, dirty glory. Think of dripping sludge against the wall. What's amazing about them is that you can use them to build up the most intense of background, or to have the most organic of masking element.

They were edited using Adobe Camera Raw, and Photoshop, for minor adjustments (lens distortion, color, exposure, orientation). They come in many different formats, to be as versatile as your workflow demands: color JPGs, black and white (positives, negatives), transparent (positives, negatives), and Bitmap TIFFs (positives, negatives).

Introducing the results of The Shop's most recent play session with black ink and paper: the black ink wash textures.

This pack includes a series of 12 black ink wash textures, featuring various types of brush patterns (diluted, heavy, subtle, intense, etc.).

After scanning the textures in at very high resolution, they are processed to fit a canvas roughly equivalent to 18"x24" @ 300 ppi. Other than resizing the textures, the editing process includes light color corrections, and straightening.

Additionally, the set also includes a version of the textures post-processed with an HDR-like feel to them. This second set transcends the various artifacts of each texture, and showcases an out of the ordinary level of details. The downside of that alternative editing process is that in some cases, the results are over the top.

Since I couldn't decide between the two, I decided to share them both as part of the product!

---

- Twelves (12) ink wash textures

- Two different editing styles, so twenty-four (24) textures total

- ~18"x24" @ 300 ppi (above 5400x7200 pixels)

What you're seeing here is the chain of the chandelier and some cables in the 'memory den'.

Initially, I was going to shoot one of those memory capsules from top down but I clipped through the ceiling.

When that happens, everything's rendered white and pink.

When you move, everything is glitching and repeating and being layered on the screen.

This is where I came up with the title followed by the idea to make something out of it. So I moved the camera around and waited for a pattern and grabbed the shot.

B&W in post since I liked it better than pink and the shot was already taken.

Destruction is an act of creation (that's a paraphrase from Pablo Picasso). In our context, it means that when that house got destroyed in my Cleveland neighborhood, I got access to a lot of cool things to use as the basis of new texture packs.

You'll never now when good textures are at hand. Turns out, houses being torn down are a great place to look for them. After the blue rusted metal textures, and the brick textures, here come the extreme scratched metal textures, from the same house.

There are seventeen (17) textures in this set. They comes from the very old, very worn down, very damaged, excavator used for the demolition. I captured elements everywhere, from the cabin to the bucket. They are all very, very, very distressed.

The textures features deep gouges, scratches, rust, paint drippings, and more. They come in a variety of formats, for extra versatility in your uses. They are stellar at masking elements, or as building blocks for backgrounds, or other surfaces.

I can't wait to see what you create with them!

Houses being torn down are Houses being torn down are an amazing source of textures. The hidden becomes visible, the behind the scene becomes from and center. After the blue rusted metal textures, here come the brick textures, from the same house.

The set features twenty-four (24) base textures. The bricks in question are a peculiar kind, with wear patterns that are excellent for masking/grunging out elements. They can obviously also be used for whatever else suits your fancy. I have carefully edited the textures using Camera Raw, and Photoshop, to remove lens distortion, lighting issues, orientation problems, and color artifacts.

The set also includes black and white versions, transparent versions, negative versions, and bitmap TIFF versions, for a grand total of one hundred and seventy (170) assets.

The set features a satisfactory range of intensity in the textures, for the most flexibility in use.

And of course, I took more pictures that day. The next sets are coming, and you should sign up for the Shop's newsletter to find out before anyone else.
