Remember the Asphalt markings textures volume 01? Well, meet the new addition to the family. They were captured during a driving break on the way from Cleveland, OH, to Goshen, IN.

These 39 new textures are perfect for backgrounds, distressing, and more. As opposed to the first pack, these were taken on a parking lot that was in better shape, so the markings aren't as faded as before. They feature grunge artifacts that range from subtle to nuclear.

Some of the textures have been edited through Photoshop CC for color correction only. They are sized ar 3264 x 2448 pixels

Every once in a while, when walking through a town's back alleys, you find one of these. An old metal door, that probably close in age to the building itself.

Captured in Goshen, IN, these 36 textures show the effect of time on a door made of thick metal sheets. Rain, snow, salt, and indelicate people have left their marks on it through the years, giving it this unique look and feel.

The textures are perfect for masking, background building, and more.

These are 3264x2448 pixels, and have received minimal edits in Photoshop CC (orientation, and color correction).

Ladies and gentlemen, I'm pleased to introduce The Shop's second set of vector textures!

Vector textures don't have the smoothness of raster textures. This makes them a perfect medium to emulate things such as noise, dust, and other speckles. They also benefit from scalability.

This set of twenty-five (25), patiently hand-generated, noise textures will provide you with many options to add the aforementioned noise, dust, and speckling effects, ranging from subtle to harsh.

The set includes twenty-five (25) textures in vector format (Ai CC 2015, Ai CS6, Ai CS, PDF, EPS CS). They aresSized to fit an 18"x24" canvas @ 300 ppi. Bonus #1: transparent PNG versions. Bonus #2: all textures embedded as individual vector smart objects in a layered PSD file, ready to drag and drop into your projects. Bonus #3: vintage color combinations, inspired by Mid-Century Modern interior design, and packaging.

The set is now available at The Shop, my Creative Market shop: crtv.mk/j09K3.

These textures are closeup shots of a very badly painted industrial building. It's like if the contractor or employee who did the job didn't really care about how well the result would look like. He just wanted to get it done, and move on.

This resulted in some very sloppy brush strokes, and runny paint. You can tell that the coat of paint is rather thick. You can also tell that there are probably some older coats of paint underneath that whoever did this couldn't be bothered to sand down.

These textures were captured during a trip to Goshen, IN.

These 25 textures (3264x2448 pixels) will be ideal for rough background building, and to emulate brush strokes. You could also use them for masking, for not-so-subtle results.

Once snow starts melting, it can provide some intense, grainy, and gritty textures. The delicate crystals become lumps of ice, that play beautifully with light. The water slowly mixes with the ground beneath, creating a fine layer of grime and mud. The various particles caught while the snow fell are slowly revealed.

Armed with my camera, I set to capture the quickly changing worlds of melting snow and ice. The result is the melting snow & ice texture pack, available on my Creative Market store now.

Some technical details:

- Fifty-two (52) textures

- 3,264 x 2,448 pixels

- Minimal editing in Adobe Camera Raw (Photoshop CC) for subtle color, exposure, and contrast correction

These seventeen (17) textures were printed on a copier with a faulty toner, which gives them a grainy feel, along with noisy artifacts similar to risograph prints.

The colors are cyan, magenta, yellow, and black, then red, green, and blue, then ten hues following a rainbow spectrum gradient.

Each of the texture has been scanned at 2,400 ppi, then lightly edited in Photoshop (contrast, saturation), then resized to generate a crisp 18"x24" @ 300 ppi document.

- Seventeen (17) textures

- Cyan/Magenta/Yellow/Black, Red/Green/Blue, rainbow spectrum gradient

- Sized to fill an 18"x24" document at 300 ppi

Note that the high quality of the textures makes for an archive bigger than Creative Market's allowed product size limit. The archive you'll be downloading contains a text document with the download link to your full product, along with the preview images.

Introducing the results of The Shop's most recent play session with black ink and paper: the black ink wash textures, volume 02!

This pack includes a series of 11 black ink wash textures, focusing on making the results as dark and painterly as possible.

After scanning the textures in at very high resolution, they are processed to fit a canvas roughly equivalent to 18"x24" @ 300 ppi. Other than resizing the textures, the editing process includes light color corrections, and straightening.

Additionally, the set also includes a version of the textures post-processed as negatives of the original ones. This gives them either a grainy, cement-like aspect, or in some cases, the aspect of bleach on colored paper. The negatives are obtained using adjustment layers (curves, black & white) in Photoshop CC, maintaining a non-destructive workflow.

---

- Eleven (11) original, hand painted, ink wash textures

- Positive, and negative textures, for a total of twenty-two textures (22)

- 7926x5468 pixels @ 300 ppi (above 18"x24")

My latest tutorial for Design Cuts is now live.

The current DC bundle includes a product called Overprinting Press, that helps to quickly put together pieces with an overprinting effect.

I wanted to explore that approach, but without the semi-automated PSDs.

The quote we're "illustrating" during the tutorial is "Sadness flies away on the wings of time" by Jean de la Fontaine.

It's a slightly longer than usual tutorial, but I believe worth sticking through until the end.

Destruction is an act of creation (that's a paraphrase from Pablo Picasso). In our context, it means that when that house got destroyed in my Cleveland neighborhood, I got access to a lot of cool things to use as the basis of new texture packs.

After the rusted blue metal textures, the brick textures, the extreme scratched metal textures, and the painted wood textures, I'm happy to bring you the weathered grime textures!

The set is made of thirty-seven (37) base textures. They feature some cool grime/mud/miscellaneous scum patterns, in all their smeared, dusty, dirty glory. Think of dripping sludge against the wall. What's amazing about them is that you can use them to build up the most intense of background, or to have the most organic of masking element.

They were edited using Adobe Camera Raw, and Photoshop, for minor adjustments (lens distortion, color, exposure, orientation). They come in many different formats, to be as versatile as your workflow demands: color JPGs, black and white (positives, negatives), transparent (positives, negatives), and Bitmap TIFFs (positives, negatives).

---

- Thirty-seven (37) base textures

- Available in multiple formats, for a wide range of applications: JPG, black and white JPG, PNG, and Bitmap TIFF

- 3.40 GB archive

Introducing the third installment of The Shop's popular photocopy noise textures, the photocopy noise texture pack volume 03!

This time, the set features twenty-nine (29) base textures. They were printed using an unhappy laser copier, low on toner. Then, they were scratched, creased, crumpled, rubbed, and scraped, to unveil some lovely wear patterns. The wear ranged from soft, subtle, all the way to nuclear devastation.

After that analog processing, the textures were scanned in at 1,200 ppi, adjusted for lighting in Photoshop, and then converted to 18"x24" @ 300 ppi documents. They are crisp as a winter morning.

Each texture is available in a positive (mostly black), and negative (mostly white) version.

Additionally, the set features each textures as transparent PNGs (ideal to quickly add in a design, and to color them using a color overlay), and bitmap TIFFs (perfect to use in Illustrator for great, detailed texture effects without hogging down your system resources).

Noise and dust textures are perfect to add a subtle depth to your designs. Using them is very simple: just switch your layer's blending mode to "Screen," and play with the opacity slider.

---

- Twenty-nine (29) raster textures of toner noise and dust

- Sized to fit an 18"x24" canvas @ 300 ppi

- Bonus: negative versions

- Bonus: transparent PNG versions (download link included in product archive)

- Bonus: bitmap TIFF format for Illustrator (dense & large dot halftone versions)

Did you know that this pack had a little brother?

Other than shooting forks, sniffing, sneezing and generally feeling lousy, I've been trying to edit shots for my stock photography portfolio this evening! It probably wasn't the best time to be doing it, but I think I discovered a few from my archive that are acceptable!

I quite like how relaxed this one makes me feel! So with that in mind, I'm off to bed!

Goodnight all! :)

You'll never now when good textures are at hand. Turns out, houses being torn down are a great place to look for them. After the blue rusted metal textures, and the brick textures, here come the extreme scratched metal textures, from the same house.

There are seventeen (17) textures in this set. They comes from the very old, very worn down, very damaged, excavator used for the demolition. I captured elements everywhere, from the cabin to the bucket. They are all very, very, very distressed.

The textures features deep gouges, scratches, rust, paint drippings, and more. They come in a variety of formats, for extra versatility in your uses. They are stellar at masking elements, or as building blocks for backgrounds, or other surfaces.

I can't wait to see what you create with them!

Introducing the results of The Shop's most recent play session with black ink and paper: the black ink wash textures.

This pack includes a series of 12 black ink wash textures, featuring various types of brush patterns (diluted, heavy, subtle, intense, etc.).

After scanning the textures in at very high resolution, they are processed to fit a canvas roughly equivalent to 18"x24" @ 300 ppi. Other than resizing the textures, the editing process includes light color corrections, and straightening.

Additionally, the set also includes a version of the textures post-processed with an HDR-like feel to them. This second set transcends the various artifacts of each texture, and showcases an out of the ordinary level of details. The downside of that alternative editing process is that in some cases, the results are over the top.

Since I couldn't decide between the two, I decided to share them both as part of the product!

- Twelves (12) ink wash textures

- Two different editing styles, so twenty-four (24) textures total

- ~18"x24" @ 300 ppi (above 5400x7200 pixels)
