The anual Canal Pride was very busy. About 400.000 people watched the boats go by from Westerdok via Prinsengracht to the Amstel and Stopera. And why not sending a text message when dancing on a boat of Reguliersonline at the same time?
Facebook shouldn’t be considered more mysterious to inform police when there is clear evidence regarding a crime. But, its recent action has had issues on a much bigger scale. More than 1,000 (under 18 years) young people were charged by Danish police when Facebook informed authorities that messenger users were frequently sharing a video of 2 girls (under 15 years) having sex.

Agents of the Organization beware! Fellow mad scientists rejoice! Here is a review of the first part in the amazing anime known as Steins;Gate! This review will be concentrating on the English release rather than the actual series (I give the series 10/10).
English Audio
The dialogue in the English Script has been completely re-worked. While some over-the-top lines and jokes have been taken out, numerous pop culture references have been thrown in. This makes the viewing so much more enjoyable, and I'm impressed with how they worked those little lines in there. 6/10
Japanese Audio
Not much to say about this that hasn't already been said. The subtitles do not match the English Script, and are closer to what the fansubbed versions have. 10/10
Special Features
You get your standard textless opening and closing with this. The series also includes two episode commentaries, and both are fun to listen to. The Map of Akihabara is just a low-quality picture zoomed in on. Also included are trailers for upcoming releases (Deadman Wonderland), as well as Geneon re-releases (Texhnolyze, Ergo Proxy, and Serial Experiments Lain). 5/10
Packaging

The outer box is sturdy and good quality. Inside, you get the first 12 episodes on Blu-Ray and DVD. It also comes with a pretty little cardboard insert (placeholder until Part 2 is released). 7/10
English Voices
Since this is the most controversial aspect of any English adaptation, I'll be judging voice actors on their ability to sound like the Japanese counterpart, as well as their ability to act.
Okabe Rintarou (J. Michael Tatum): Tatum is spot-on with Okabe's charismatic personality, but outright fails with his mad scientist side. Average
Makise Kurisu (Trina Nishimura): Acting is spectacular, but the voice just doesn't fit. Average
Shiina Mayuri (Jackie Ross): Acts and sounds just like the Japanese Mayuri. Great
Hashida "Daru" Itaru (Tyson Rinehart): Rinehart sounds more like someone from the 80's than an Otaku, but the acting is good. Average
Kiryū Moeka (Jessica Cavanagh): Acting is bad, and the voice sounds horrible. Bad
Urushibara Ruka (Lindsey Seidel): Seidel nailed this role, Ruka being a...y'know... Great
Feris Nyannyan (Jad Saxton): Voice and acting check out fine. While I know some people will be disappointed with her not saying "nyan" after every sentence, I'm okay with it. Better than the Japanese version in my opinion. Great
Amane Suzuha (Cherami Leigh): Acting is good, and voice fits well. Great
Mr. Braun (Christopher Sabat): Acting is not good, and voice does not fit well. Bad
Final Score
Since this is only half of the series, I recommend first-time viewers to watch the second half online, or hold off on viewing until Part 2 hits shelves. For anybody who has seen Steins;Gate, this is a great English release by Funimation. If the English voices/script aren't doing it for you, switch to Japanese with subtitles. 7/10

In Southern California, diabetes plagues the Latino population, said Elizabeth Burner, MD, MPH, a research fellow at the Department of Emergency Medicine at LAC and USC. But due to language, culture, and other barriers, these patients may not manage their disease optimally.
Burner tested the use of a program that used mobile phones to text educational and motivational messages to diabetes patients to improve their understanding of the disease and encourage meaningful lifestyle changes. During the study, researchers texted reminders about nutrition, medications, and exercise, prompting some participants to adopt healthier behaviors.
Because mobile phones are nearly ubiquitous in America, "mHealth" could be a powerful public health approach.
"The SC CTSI provided funding and a way for us to look at this kind of technology and develop a way to get more deeply into the community and turn our idea into something real," said Burner.
