So. My old phone, the razr, I had had for almost two years, and finally, it just fell to shit and wouldn't turn on, even with a new battery. So, I got this, the Samsung Slider. I LOVE it, and I couldn't be more pleased that I can text again.. The guy at the U.S. Cellular place said I send about 2800 texts a month. Shit.

as a teenager, life can be hard. the pressure to be perfect, be liked by everone, and have a boyfriend can really get to someone. all of this can lead to people talking behind others backs and saying hurtful words that make the biggest impact on someone.

My spouse travels, a lot. In the old days I would get a letter every 2 weeks. Today as I was reading a text he sent updating me on his day, and checking on mine, I noticed how much I take that miraculously easy connection for granted. But, take it away, and I would miss it terribly. [7/365]
This 365 project is already encouraging me to learn better technique with my camera. Today I've learned that when photographing anything black and shiny you'd better dust and polish like crazy. Amazing how much smudge, dust and cat hair show up in the images. ;)
i hate getting texts. i only get 200 with my plan and am paranoid that i'll go over and end up with a 3,485,408 dollar phone bill. so to get on my nerves, what does my brother do? yeah. LOL

OK, so it apparently wasn't enough for me to torture myself by making Valentine's Day cards for my daughter's class that look like little cell phones. No, I had to go one step further and make CASES for them too.

The set theme was: C is for Calamity
I'd been mulling over possibilities for a "calamity" shot all week. I missed the dramatic incident of a bus on fire on one of the main roads out of town, but totally out of the blue I had my own real calamity on Friday when I phoned my 91-year-old father and couldn't get an answer. I tried again 5 minutes later, and this time he did respond, only to say that he had fallen. Thankfully my step-brother lives nearby and he and his wife sat with Dad while I drove up to his house (about 1 hour 40 minutes). By the time the doctor came, Dad was able to walk again and today he is fine and can't understand why everyone is making a fuss!
Anyway, this is my attempt to convey the frantic attempts to contact my brother before setting off on the long drive.
