"Where were you happiest to arrive, and why?"
Interesting idea, but nothing to do with blogs.
"To add to the secret life of bus journeys, start a text message with
BUS, then a space, then your choice (no more than 1 text
message in length), and send it to 079624 819 019*
"To find out what other people have chosen, just text BUS, and
nothing else, to the same number*

"Anywhereblogs lets you discover and create the secret life of the places
and events that matter to you, while you are out and about around the city. It
is a new initiative for the whole of Manchester, the first public, citywide

I offically hate title's.
Sooo, maybe you have noticed, or maybe you haven't. But, my Pro account has expired. Two hundred and three of my pictures have been deleted and removed from my Flickr steam. I really didn't think it would...Impact me, but I cried for a while xD Sooo, its really, really, really upsetting, but...Thats life.
I don't know why I ever did soccer in the fall. Cross country is the greatest sport. I love it sooo much :D I want everyone to do it.
Okayy, so I was away from my computer for a whileeee, but! This was inspired by Emily Hall [: She's amazinggggg!!! :D
My very best friend left for Italy today for a whole year. Well, an entire school year. Yea, I cried because its going to be hard and I'm going to miss her so much beyond words. But I know that when she comes back our friendship is going to be stronger than ever. I slept over her house and had such a dang blast<3333 I cannot wait to see here beautiful face again.
I love you Emma Maloray Johnson.

I was inspired to do this painting due to the public awareness of texting in a car, but in fact there are also many oher things that distract us while we are driving

The closest thing to a photo shoot/collaboration on the whole SD trip: my silly idea, Brian behind the lens, me batting clean-up on post.
...when i took this shot I was still planning to head to Shanghai. But when I got your text message I've got so confused...24hrs later everything changed...I think this picture probably summaries how I felt.

One of the classrooms where I work had their door completed tonight. There are a few classrooms done already and the competition is pretty tough this year. Lots of great ideas have been thought up
For those who didn't already know, we're having a kid... and the word yesterday from the ultrasound was that it's going to be a boy. The little guy will be due in early October, and we're quite excited.
This is a local Detroit cartoon about embattled mayor Kwame Kilpatrick. Kilpatrick refuses to step down even after he's been criminally charged. 14,000 text messages revealed that he didn't just have an affair--he paid his friends overtime as bodyguards to help him cover up said affair, and when whistleblowers tried to stop the madness, he had them demoted/fired and lied about it and they sued for $9 million... just go Google it. Trust me, it's messed up. And he is very fond of LOL LOL talk, as his messages reveal.

More fabulous alerts reassuring me to feel safe in college.
Casual.
This past year, we received UF Alerts almost monthly, sometimes more than once. Not only are they alarming, but they are seriously unusual occurrences. Escaped prisoner?! That is rare, but only in Gainesville would something like that happen.
Half the time, it doesn't even seem like UFPD has things under control.
There are times when I go for a late-night gym session at 12 a.m. (don't judge me), which means I've walked home at 1 a.m. by myself, right where some of these crimes took place.
Are we safe anywhere?
What does this say about how UF's crime rates compare with other universities? Also, just how effective are these UF Alerts and how does it reflect Gainesville's law enforcement that is supposed to protect us?
I think I'll write a Letter to the Editor to the Alligator.
I came home from work a few/several weeks ago to find a package addressed to Yasminay (which name-usage is kinda the way to my heart, but only coming from a select number of people).
Inside were a pair of 'daffodil socks' from UncommonGoods, and a note from Batman in Mauritius: 'This is for keeping me entertained with your international smsz when I was away. =)'
I didn't know international textmessaging merits surprise gifts in the mail, but who's complaining? Not I.
The hilarious part is that, just the week before, Hashim had sent out an email to me, Anjum, Hoda, Zana, Baji, Iffat, and Ayesha, with the subject line, 'i need a suggestion...', and the body: 'sending a gift online to someone. any thoughts? i'm leaning towards food.'
Being useless at such advice, I suggested dark chocolate truffles, Karachi halwa, photobooks, and CEREAL.
(How was I to know?)
Also, there are 61 emails in that gmail-thread now, thanks to our crackheaded, tangential conversations.
Also#2: I LOWVE the socks - even if they were a pain in the ass to photograph. ;)
PS: Think of how amazingly these socks would have gone with the rainbow-striped gloves I didn't end up buying!
PPS: Thank you, crackstar rockstar!
I love that sign. This recycling bin is directly in front of the Nike Store on Bloor Street.
However, it's far from clear this is a recycling bin. The signage could improve - especially for the middle opening for the bottles.
Connex SMS Hoax!
Even though I suspected that it was a prank, post-9-11, it's hard not to feel a bit worried.
The text:
ALLAHU AKBR FROM CONNEX!
our inspectorS love killing people - if you see one coming, run. Want to bomb a train? They will gladly help! See you in hell!
This was followed by a power outage on the Glen Waverley line, because of a problem in Gardiner!

One Photo A Day June 11, 2009. At a bus stop in in the lower east side, a woman has a meditative smoke as she waits for her friend to emerge from shopping.
Richard, Downtown, Hoogeveen, Netherlands.
16 Apr. 2011:
...after those 5 beers I drank with Klaas (my previous stranger) I walked through a mall cus I had te deliver some photo's to a local musician.
Musician was happy so I went outside and was reading a textmessage on my cellphone as I was walking... I looked up and saw this guy walking with his wife and 2 kids. He immidiately took my attention with that red beard!
I said "Excuse me..." and we started a conversation. Told him about the project and he was pleased I asked him for that!
After a few minutes chatting he asked me some things about 20 years ago. If I've played in a band as a guitarist... huh? ehh... yeah. This guy is a complete stranger to me, but he knew me from 20 years back when I played the guitar in a band! He even knew the bandname! What are the odds?
He plays the bass in a band called "Icons of Brutality" and has a gig in 2 weeks from now. Maybe I will give it a try and take a look at your band playing old death metal classics...
Richard you are very curious how I've portrayed your ugly mug. Well here it is! :D
Thanks for the chat and your cooperation Richard! I hope you like the picture and I will probably see you around!
This picture is #11 in my 100 strangers project.
