Just a test for an idea i've had in my mind for a while, it's not right yet but i might do a small edition when i'm happy with it!

peeped down and saw this magnificent sight (doesnt look that magnificent here though) light testing as a part of the preparations for Navratri, the Indian festival celebrating the triumphs of Goddess Durga. The festival of Navratri -
Nav (nine) ratri (nights) - is celebrated for nine days at a stretch and it ends on the tenth day which is celebrated as Dusherra.
i am particularly looking forward to shooting the Goddess this year. i hope i get to do it in the middle of the University exams!

Been some time since I worked with my flash heads. Here, I've used the RoundFlash which is supposed to act as a ring-flash around the lens. Initially the image was fine (got some mystique) but then I've decided to light the hair a bit, thus replaced my other flash on a tripod and fitted within a diffuser on my right side and above me. I think the light on the hair is harsh a bit. I wanted to show more of the eye color, but seems I'd need another flash for this task. That's why, I had to rely solely on some post-processing effects to lighten the colors a bit. I think it is a bit out of focus already (before pulling down the Clarity while processing the RAW).

A bit of a summer project - that took longer than expected.
Taking two redundant Hornby Mk IIa BFK vehicles and splicing them together a reasonable representation of a corridor first can be made. This can then be used as the basis for Test Car 6.

Test nouveau smartphone en faible luminosité. Les ombres et lumières sont bien définies, les ISO vraiment bien gérés par l'électronique. Je suis vraiment surpris par la qualité.

Aletta and Denver patiently wait for the pregnancy test to come through. They're really hoping it to tell them that Aletta is indeed pregnant.
We acquired a pulsejet engine and SA007 decided it would be fun to try it out.
The engine is fastened to a piece of train rails to weigh it down and prevent actual lift-off. The fuel line is crafted out of electrical wire (with the wires being removed from the jacket). The air intake line is made from CAT 5E network cable (also with inner wiring removed from the outer jacket). The prototype fuel tank was made from a piece of bicycle inner-tube, later we just used a cut plastic bottle. The high-voltage current which ignites the spark-plug is provided by a neon sign transformer.
Actual phrases overheard during construction and test-firing:
* "This (electrical) wire is rated for 300 volts, so it'll probably be okay to use as a gasoline fuel line"
* "This piece of train rails will weigh it down sufficiently to prevent lift-off....probably"
* "With us being boardmembers, shouldn't we put a stop to this?"
* "That length of CAT5E network cable is perfect as an air intake hose"
* "Wait, doesn't this count as a weapon?" (weapons are prohibited from entering the hackerspace)
* "We *do* have the paramedics on speed-dial, right?"
* "I am picturing a couple of nerds desperately running after an escaped pulse-jet-driven drinks cart"
* "Anyway, even *if* it escapes, it can't go farther than the compound gates" (300 metres away)

MK U3A outing to Brooklands Museum in Surrey.
Nearing the summit of Test Hill before turning on to the Members Bank, where cars used to race at an angle at speeds of over 100 mph. After taking this shot my wife and I took a ride in the car shown, but fortunately not at racing speeds! Even so the Members Bank was fairly hair raising - an experience to be undertaken once and once only!
